Matt Marciano argues that the Jets should hire Doug Pederson.
Okay Jets fans…. buckle up as what I am about to say may not be a popular position. The Jets should hire the former Eagles coach, who was fired by the team last night to be their next head coach. Pederson would bring successful head coaching experience, a Super Bowl ring as a head coach and the leadership that is needed to rebuild the NY Jets.
Matt Marciano provides his thoughts on Jets HC candidates.
The New York Jets’ ownership this Sunday night, following the Jets 28-14 loss to the Patriots, finally did something right. They fired head coach Adam Gase after an abysmal 9-23 record in two years leading the Jets. The biggest decision of the tenure of GM Joe Douglas now looms large and that is finding a head coach that can change the culture of the Jets and to make the Jets a more competitive team moving forward. Here is a list I compiled of some of the candidates that the Jets should pursue (and not pursue). Some of these candidates the Jets have already received permission to speak to as part of their head coaching search.
Matt Marciano laments the Jets losing the Trevor Lawrence sweepstakes and provides his opinion on how the number two overall pick should be used.
The New York Jets won their second game of the season, defeating a playoff team in the Cleveland Browns by a score of 23-16. In the process, the Jacksonville Jaguars lost once again, to the Chicago Bears. The Jags losing, combined with the Jets winning, has given the Jags the coveted first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and the right to pick a possible franchise altering quarterback in Trevor Lawrence.
