Michael Meegan Final Jets Mock

Michael Meegan offers his final Jets mock draft ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft tonight.

We finally made it to draft week.  If the Jets follow this mock exactly they will not be an embarrassment in 2021.  I hope…..

Pick 1.2-  Zach Wilson QB BYU

Zach Wilson is the new face of the franchise.  He has superstar potential and the Jets need to develop him into one. Slandering the most important player on our team and who is going to be the reason if the Jets ever  become an exciting team needs to end.

Pick 1.23- Kwity Paye Edge Michigan

Paye is a freak athlete that will have Robert Saleh salivating.  With Carl Lawson Paye will not be relied on to be the guy right away and can be groomed into the premier edge he has the potential to be.

Pick 2.34  Liam Eichenberg OT/OG Notre Dame

This pick is not sexy but Zach Wilson needs to be protected at all costs.  Eichenberg is a plug and play guard who is durable and will fortify the left side of the line with Becton.

Pick 3.66  Jabril Cox LB LSU

The Jets LB core is full of questions marks and this is the position Robert Saleh knows best.  Cox gives him his good coverage LB who can develop into a key part of this defense.

Pick 3.86 Paulson Adeebo CB Stanford

Great Athlete great ball skills perfect scheme fit.  This one NEEEDS to happen.

Pick 4.107  Josh Palmer WR Tennessee

My Guy on Day 3.  He worked Surtain and Horn but little production will cause him to fall to around this spot.  Can play in the slot and outside and I think he has the chance to be a high end WR3.

Round 5 145  Ambry Thomas CB Michigan

Jets got holes at slot corner. Ambry Thomas is a feisty corner who can also contribute on special teams.  Throw a day 3 pick and Javelin Guidry at this hole and see if your coaching staff can find a long term starter at the position without using premium assets.

Pick 5.154 Kylin Hill RB Mississippi State

I would take a RB on day 3 every year.  Hills ability as a receiver and his sweet feet I think give the Jets the best chance to find the head back of their committee while using their day 1 and 2 picks on their more glaring needs.

Pick 6.186  Josh Ball OT Marshall

Ball is a day 2 talent with serious off the field red flags that will cause him to fall to day 3.  If his issues are behind him the opportunity to find  a long term answer at OT this late in a draft would be a huge coup for the Jets.

Pick 6.226  Noah Grey TE/FB Duke

Shannahan schemes need a fullback.  Gray is a great athlete who can fill that role as a FB/TE hybrid.
