Initial Reaction – It Is Over

Joe Caporoso with initial reaction to another New York Jets blowout loss, this time to the Indianapolis Colts

For the second week in a row, I have the luxury of writing this article halfway through the fourth quarter. I could have started it earlier. The Jets are going to lose by more than 20 points (again). The Jets are going to score less than 20 points (again). The Jets season is over in September (again). The only silver lining is renewed rumors of Adam Gase potentially being fired in season if he can’t beat the hobbled, 0-3 Denver Broncos this Thursday Night (GO DENVER, BABY).

Sam Darnold is a talented quarterback who seems like a good guy. He is unfortunately currently collateral damage of the train wreck being implemented by Gase and his inept coaching staff. Despite a pretty first half touchdown, Darnold was a mess today with three interceptions (including two pick sixes). There is a case to be made he is currently the worst starting quarterback in the NFL. Maybe he can make a run if the Jets fire Gase soon to force the Jets to consider not drafting a quarterback next year but as it stands now, Darnold is on track not to be the guy in 2021 and beyond.

The roster is a joke. The coaching staff is a joke. The ownership is a joke. This is currently a reboot of the Rich Kotite Era. You don’t need me to tell you that. This is the worst team in the NFL.

I have been waiting since mid 2016 to have the Jets organization fully rid of both Mike Maccagnan and Adam Gase. I have built this entire website around that in recent years and we may almost be home.
