The Jets were trying to put consecutive wins together for the first time since week 5 of last season. Both teams came into the game with a bunch of injury concerns that could affect the end result of the game. Could the Jets get it done at MetLife? #JetsTwitter takes us through it.
1st Half
Colts got the ball to start the game and it didn’t long for things to get crazy…
Wow!#Jets touchdown! Morris Claiborne pick-six.
— Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) October 14, 2018
PICKED OFF! MORRIS CLAIBORNE GRABS A TIPPED BALL AND HE SCORES! TOUCHDOWN JETS! #Jets
— Daniel Feuerstein (@DFeuerstein) October 14, 2018
Wowzers, that's some start for the #Jets. Marlon Mack bobbled a screen pass, Jamal Adams tipped it up into the air and Morris Claiborne picked it off and returned it 17 yards for a touchdown. Great start for New York.
— Chris Mascaro (@CCMascaro) October 14, 2018
1st TD of the day comes on defense! Morris Claiborne clearly at the right place at the right time here. And yeah, the team photo celebration clearly a thing. #Jets pic.twitter.com/I7va12cRYY
— LastWordOnNFL (@LastWordOnNFL) October 14, 2018
The Colts answered back immediately, however, marching down the field and scoring on touchdown pass from Andrew Luck to Marcus Johnson to tie it up at 7.
Great reaction by the Colts. Two plays after Luck to Alie-Cox for 34 yards, Luck finds WR Marcus Johnson for a 34-yard touchdown pass. That’s Johnson’s first-career touchdown.
It’s 7-all with 12:16 left in the 1Q.
— Andrew Walker (@AWalkerColts) October 14, 2018
The secondary didn't do so well on that drive: Andrew Luck moves up in the pocket, finds Marcus Johnson alone (behind Parry Nickerson) for an easy, 34-yard touchdown. … All tied at 7-7.
— Ralph Vacchiano (@RVacchianoSNY) October 14, 2018
Luck throwing touchdowns to Marcus Johnson get this man help please
— Jerrod (@JL_hope) October 14, 2018
Sad ting…
On the Jets first drive of the game, the following series, they had a splash play but in the end settled for a field goal to go up 10-7.
Darnold throws a 50/50 ball up the sideline to rookie TE Chris Herndon, who makes a great catch. This one counts.
1st and 10 on the Colts 31. #INDvsNYJ
— Ethan B. Greenberg (@EGreenbergJets) October 14, 2018
WHAT A THROW AND CATCH BY DARNOLD AND HERNDON! #INDvsNYJ
— NY Guy (@TheRealNYShad) October 14, 2018
Hell of a catch by #Jets rookie TE Chris Herndon over Malik Hooker for a 24-yard pickup. Herndon has shown flashes in recent weeks.
— Manish Mehta (@MMehtaNYDN) October 14, 2018
Big catch herndon keep it goin
— Pat Garrett’s Sheepskin Emporium (@ewangs) October 14, 2018
#Jets 13-play drive stalls in the red zone and they settle for a 30-yard Field Goal from Myers to take a 10-7 lead, 4:33 left in 1st qtr. #IndvsNYJ
— Anthony Rushing Jr. (@TonyRushingNY) October 14, 2018
The Jets forced a punt on the next drive and got the ball back looking to extend their lead. However…
Malik Hooker makes Sam Darnold pay for a terrible third-down throw. His first INT of the season. Return puts the #Colts at New York’s 35.
— George Bremer (@gmbremer) October 14, 2018
Sad in french…

WHY DARNOLD WHY
— Lori Bovee (@loloofthewoods) October 14, 2018
Bad throw by Darnold, gets picked. But he fills up the stat sheet by recording the tackle
— Al Iannazzone (@Al_Iannazzone) October 14, 2018
After the interception the Jets defense was able to keep the Colts out of the endzone and hold them to field goal to tie it up at 10. On the next Jets drive…
Another turnover for the Jets. Their second in as many drives. Quincy Enunwa had the ball popped out from behind. He limps off after the lost fumble.
— Darryl Slater (@DarrylSlater) October 14, 2018
Two first half turnovers now for the #Jets – Darnold INT and Enunwa fumble.
— Joe Caporoso (@JCaporoso) October 14, 2018
I…I mean that’s just so so bad from Enunwa. You can’t fumble there.
— Jesse Finver (@JfinverSports12) October 14, 2018
Enunwa being looked at on sideline. Right leg apparently hurt on play on which he lost fumble
— J.P. Pelzman (@JPPelzman) October 14, 2018
The Colts had a short field but once again the Jets defense kept them out of the endzone. They settled for another field goal to go up 13-10.
The Jets punted on their next drive and the Colts looked to put more points on the board. But…
Forced fumble by Jets S Jamal Adams, recovered by LB Jordan Jenkins, and the Jets are in business just across midfield.
— Ralph Vacchiano (@RVacchianoSNY) October 14, 2018
YEAH @TheAdamsEra with the big hit to cause the fumble. Lets get 7 here! #jets
— Joey D (@joedeangelus) October 14, 2018
Jamal Adams. Man. Hope folks outside of this market realize how good he is. Forces a fumble on Turbin, and the Jets have a chance to capitalize and at the very least tie it back up.
— Mike Ashmore (@mashmore98) October 14, 2018
That's the 3rd forced fumble of Jamal Adams' young career. #Jets
— Gary Phillips (@GaryHPhillips) October 14, 2018
Jamal Adams is so so so good. Forces a fumble and gives the Jets the ball with great field position. Gotta score here. #Jets pic.twitter.com/Bl1Wq7C8lA
— Jesse Finver (@JfinverSports12) October 14, 2018
Then on the ensuing Jets drive…
Sam Darnold to Terrelle Pryor in front of EZ—touchdown. Jets take 17-13 led w/ 2:35 left in 1st half. Score comes after FUM recovery and so Jets have now scored 39 pts off of 13 takeaways on season and 14 pts off of 2 TAs this game.
— Randy Lange (@rlangejets) October 14, 2018
Sam Darnold to Terrelle Pryor TOUCHDOWN JETS
— Ky (@_krg13) October 14, 2018
The Jets, the worst red-zone team in the league, score the go-ahead touchdown on a Darnold pass to Terrelle Pryor. Take advantage of the Turbin fumble. Jets lead 17-13.
— Bob Kravitz (@bkravitz) October 14, 2018
Deal with it, Bob.
What a throw by Darnold!! He threw that touchdown before Pryor even turned around. Huge drive after Adams monster hit and forced fumble. The rook is 11-12 with a TD and int is the only blemish #jets
— Brian (@Bugiadakid) October 14, 2018
Great timing on the throw here from Darnold on the touchdown. Pryor slowly working his way out of the dog house. pic.twitter.com/IWfJ8o92wI
— Jesse Finver (@JfinverSports12) October 14, 2018
Darnold to Pryor like…
After the Jets took back the lead, the defense got back into their groove…
Another turnover, on a day filled with them. Avery Williamson with the interception of Andrew Luck, on yet another tipped pass.
— Darryl Slater (@DarrylSlater) October 14, 2018
INTERCEPTION! WILLIAMSON! TURNOVERS!!! #JETS
— Surfer Ken©™ (@SurferKenLive) October 14, 2018
Interception Avery Williamson caused by Morris Claibornes great defense
— Joey (@ItsJoey_M) October 14, 2018
Andrew Luck is out here throwing interceptions to Avery Williamson. Tell me more about how he's been outstanding this year.
— Matias Wodner, First of His Name (@matiwod) October 14, 2018
He has been…but I’ll overlook this!
Jason Myers with a 48-yard field goal after Avery Williamson's interception, and the Jets lead 20-13 with 1:25 left in first half. Will Andrew Luck be Andrew Luck to finish out this half?
— Darryl Slater (@DarrylSlater) October 14, 2018
The answer: No they punted. But then in the final series of Sam Darnold to finish the first half…
Darnold hits Pryor again for a big gain that puts the #Jets into #Colts territory. They call their final timeout at Indy’s 45. Need about 10 yards to be in Myers’ range.
— New York Jet Fuel (@NewYorkJetFuel) October 14, 2018
Darnold completion again – Anderson on the comeback route and gets out of in bounds. #Jets passing game is cooking.
— Joe Caporoso (@JCaporoso) October 14, 2018
Darnold completes to Kearse over the middle, offense runs up and clocks the ball. Jason Myers on for the 32-yard FG with 3 seconds left. #INDvsNYJ
— Ethan B. Greenberg (@EGreenbergJets) October 14, 2018
13-point run to close the half and it's 23-10 after Myers' 32-yarder. #INDvsNYJ
— Eric Allen (@eallenjets) October 14, 2018
I was fully expecting the #Jets to kneel on it a few times before half. Seeing them aggressive is….unusual.
— Joe (@JoeRiveraSN) October 14, 2018
Jets' crisp hurryup offense from their 28 to Colts 14, spike to stop the clock by Sam Darnold & Jason Myers' 32-yd FG, all in the last 42 secs, gives Jets 23-13 lead to take into the locker room at the half…
— Randy Lange (@rlangejets) October 14, 2018
Gorgeous 2 minute offense by the #Jets to end the half
— Matt Weiss (@weissy33) October 14, 2018
2nd Half
Jets got the ball to start the second half and wasted no time…
Another 3rd down conversion. Darnold hits Pryor. With Enunwa our, Pryor getting some looks and coming up big. #Jets
— LoyalNYJetFans (@loyalnyjetfans) October 14, 2018
Sam Darnold with a 32-yard touchdown to rookie TE Chris Herndon who was wide open. Tremendous play design. The Jets are rolling up 30-13 early in the third quarter.
— Ralph Vacchiano (@RVacchianoSNY) October 14, 2018

Que touchdown fácil! Darnold para Herndon! 30 x 13 para NYJ.#NFLnaESPN #INDvsNYJ

— Elite Sports NY (@EliteSportsNY) October 14, 2018
On the next Colts drive, Marlon Mack ran all over the Jets and the Colts scored on a Luck touchdown pass to Eric Ebron to climb closer at 30-20.
Andrew Luck to Eric Ebron for touchdown number 6 this seasonpic.twitter.com/SyWxyWCT39
— Dov Kleiman (@NFL_DovKleiman) October 14, 2018
Then the Jason Myers show started for the Jets
Jason Myers from 37 yds makes it Jets 33-20 w/ 3:53 left 3rd qtr. Myers has FGs of 30, 48, 32 & 37, making him the first Jets kicker w/ 4 FGs in a game since Nick Folk did it 3 times in 2014.
— Randy Lange (@rlangejets) October 14, 2018
Then a long touchdown drive from Andrew Luck and the Colts offense ending with a 2 yard touchdown to Erik Swoope to make it 33-27.
#Colts Erik Swoope touchdown.pic.twitter.com/dTSBImirLj
— Dov Kleiman (@NFL_DovKleiman) October 14, 2018
Defense must get its act together #Jets
— HARGZ™ (@JohnHargz) October 14, 2018
[Myers show cont’d]
Fifth Myers FG makes it 36-27. #Jets D got some rest, but can they make the right adjustments?
— Steve Lichtenstein (@SteveLichtenst1) October 14, 2018
Funny you should ask, Steve. On the next Colts possession…
Darron Lee interception again — his third of the season. A huge pick in an even bigger spot. What a play from the linebacker. His strong season continues.
— Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) October 14, 2018
Andrew Luck throws yet another INT, his 3rd of the game.
This one by Darron Lee. This is Lee's 3rd INT of thea year. pic.twitter.com/eJ7b64Sptx

DARRON LEE INTERCEPTION MACHINE #Jets
— James (@JamesTheMetsFan) October 14, 2018
Awesome to see the development of Darron Lee. He’s come such a long way since his 1st two years in the league. Give Jets coaches credit.
— Matt Drexler (@MatthewDrexler3) October 14, 2018
Darron Lee goes on the @TheJetTake and is having his best season yet. Coincidence? #Jets #TOJ
— Greg (@GregArmstrong_) October 14, 2018
I think not, Greg!
DARRON LEE INTERCEPTION PRESSURE BY LEONARD WILLIAMS YOU DONT KNOW HOW LOUD I'M SCREAMING
— Joey (@ItsJoey_M) October 14, 2018
Linebacker Darron Lee is now tied for the NFL lead with three interceptions #Jets
— Zach Schonbrun (@zschonbrun) October 14, 2018
Don't let this Darron Lee interception distract you from the fact that Leonard Williams almost committed murder on a Colts offensive lineman#Jets pic.twitter.com/1PQ76DZpAY

[Jason Myers show cont’d]
Jason Myers connects for his sixth field goal (!) today. This one from 37.#Jets up 39-27 with 5:55 left. #INDvsNYJ
— Ethan B. Greenberg (@EGreenbergJets) October 14, 2018
After the Jets defense forced a turnover on downs…
[Jason Myers week 6 finale]
Jason Myers now 7-of-7 in field goal tries for the #Jets, who lead 42-27. That's the most field goals by a Jets kicker in franchise history. Jim Turner and Bobby Howfield had 6 each.
— Bob Glauber (@BobGlauber) October 14, 2018
WOW what a day from Jets kicker Jason Myers 7 for 7 on field goals
— Joe Honosky (@HonoskyJoe) October 14, 2018
The Jets went on to win 42-34 after a garbage time TD from the Colts. They improved their record to 3-3 and Jets fans were feeling good after the final whistle.
Can’t believe I’m saying this but this was great from Todd Bowles. Great message after a great win. #Jets pic.twitter.com/5d7J6jCD3R
