TOJ Tweet Summary continues with the New York Jets week 6 face off with the New England Patriots. Jets fans are always pumped up for this hate-filled matchup and expectations were actually somewhat hopeful. Let’s see how it turned out through #JetsTwitter.
Jets fans knew this game was a great day to steal one from the Patriots at home.
If the #Jets can exploit the Patriots offensive line and secondary, they will have a chance to win in this one today
— TheMikeReportBlog (@mikereportblog) October 15, 2017
Do I think the Jets have a chance? Yes. But a fast start is key. A first drive score is necessary. Jets 30, Pats 28.
— Matt Gad (@RealMattGad) October 15, 2017
They heard you about that fast start, Matt…
The Jets first drive was a dream as they quickly went up 7-0.
Good lord what a catch by Kerley! First and goal #Jets
— Joe Caporoso (@JCaporoso) October 15, 2017
Wow. What a catch by Jeremy Kerley, wow. Jets inside the five on their first drive against NE.
— Ethan Carter (@EthanCarterSCF) October 15, 2017
What a fantastic catch by Kerley! #Jets looking great early on.
— Andrew Aziz (@AndrewAzizSB) October 15, 2017
ASJ….Tight End TD
— Chris Gragg (@Gragg80) October 15, 2017
TD ASJ! Wow that was a really impressive opening drive! 88 yards! Boom! I'll take it! #Jets
— Curtis Loew (@Bvooch) October 15, 2017
After that, both teams traded punts, and then Patriots tried to put a drive together but…
FUMBLE!!!!! Skrine makes a statement for this #jets defense!
— ur local college kid (@urlocalwhatever) October 15, 2017
Darron Lee forced the fumble, punching the ball out from behind. Skrine pounced on it. Jets ball. #Jets
— Rich Cimini (@RichCimini) October 15, 2017
#Jets defense comes up big with the Gillislee fumble. Lee with the strip, Skrine the recovery. Offense back on the field.
— Anthony Rushing Jr. (@TonyRushingNY) October 15, 2017
Jets didn’t waste this opportunity as McCown connected with Jeremy Kerley for a TD.

Jeremy Kerley TD!!!
The @nyjets are flying
— Sean Walsh (@WalshNYJets) October 15, 2017
#Jets up 14-0 on the Patriots after McCown's 31-yard TD pass to Kerley. Just as we all predicted.
— Chris Iseman (@ChrisIseman) October 15, 2017
Jets were able to keep the Patriots out of the endzone one more time but couldn’t get anything going on offense. So of course, with 5 minutes left in the first half, the Patriots were able to score making it 14-7 but it was aided by an interesting DPI call against Jamal Adams…
Skrine drops an interception right in his hands, Gronk pulls Adams into him and Adams gets a pass interference penalty. Awful. #NYJ
— ChrisDiNardo (@ChrisDiNardo_) October 15, 2017
Tough PI call on Jets S Jamal Adams covering TE Rob Gronkowski. Sure looked like the interference was mutual.
— Ralph Vacchiano (@RVacchianoSNY) October 15, 2017
How is that a penalty on Adams! Gronk pushed his head away
— Aston-Reeses Pieces (@CosmicChaos24) October 15, 2017
Pats cant score so the refs gotta help them on a BS penalty. Gronk pushed off 3 times and they call it on Adams #JetsvsPats
— Andrew Pisano (@AndrewPisano) October 15, 2017
Dion Lewis 1 yard TD run brings the Patriots back to within 7 with the Jets leading 14-7 with 5:19 remaining 2nd quarter
— Charlie Bergeron (@CharlieBergeron) October 15, 2017
Jets got the ball back with the perfect opportunity to respond on offense and draw a line in the sand before halftime…they went three and out. Patriots got the ball back with a chance to tie and…

— Kishwar Mehdi (@Jetsfan101290) October 15, 2017
Nice pick by Skrine, making up for that dropped INT. #Jets
— Pro Wrestling Walrus (@RasslinWalrus) October 15, 2017
Okay for real this time! Jets got the ball back with the perfect opportunity to extend the lead on offense and draw a line in the sand before halftime…they went three and out again. The Patriots then drove into Jets territory and attempted a 47-yard field goal…
— FanSportsClips (@FanSportsClips) October 15, 2017
— Ashley Rose Duchon (@ashleyrduchon) October 15, 2017
Okay! Here’s the one! One more time! The Jets get the ball back with a chance to give themselves some breathing room right before the–
Bad throw by McCown. Malcolm Butler forces the INT pic.twitter.com/eS6f4dEfRm
— Billy Marshall (@BillyM_91) October 15, 2017
McCown's INT was inexcusable. Allowing NE back in this game is brutal for the Jets
— #Swamalytics (@Moonlightswami) October 15, 2017
Bad decision by Josh McCown to throw that ball. Easy play by Malcolm Butler to snag his second INT of the season.
— Zack Cox (@ZackCoxNESN) October 15, 2017
— New York Jet Fuel (@NewYorkJetFuel) October 15, 2017
— Lorenzo Reyes (@LorenzoGReyes) October 15, 2017
And we’re tied at the half…
Patriots got the ball to start the second half and looked like they were ready to take the game over.
Brady to Gronkowski for 33 yds, TD & 21-14 lead. Gronk's 3rd two-TD game of his career vs Jets. First two were in '11, '12.
— Randy Lange (@rlangejets) October 15, 2017
Another Gronk TD. Ran right by two Jets defenders for a huge run-after-catch score. Maybe we hold off on Kelce taking the TE throne?
— Brent Schwartz (@BrentSchwartzz) October 15, 2017
Kelce is the better dancer though, Brent, so really who had the throne in the first place?
Jets offense came back strong with a nice drive but it stalled in Patriots territory. They decided to go for it on 4th down at New England’s 34-yard-line…
INT #2 for McCown. Bad call. Bad decision. Bad football.
— Joe Caporoso (@JCaporoso) October 15, 2017
McCown had a wide open guy and missed him for the INT. Sick day jets fans.
— Mike Bulger (@M_Bulger19) October 15, 2017
Another McCown INT. I hate the Jets for teasing me and making me think they could win this game
— Howard WGR (@hsimon62) October 15, 2017
This is from 2016…prophetic…

— charles mcdonald (@FourVerts) December 29, 2016
Patriots went on another long drive but the Jets defense stood strong in the end, holding them to a field to make it 24-14. Then on the ensuing Jets drive…
Austin Seferian-Jenkins with his 2nd TD of the game … reaches for the goal line after the catch for 4-yard TD.
— Dennis Waszak Jr. (@DWAZ73) October 15, 2017
ASJ strikes again. #Jets
— Tom Kessenich (@TomKessenich) October 15, 2017
TD ASJ AGAIN!!!! 1 possesion game #NEvsNYJ
— NY Guy (@TheRealNYShad) October 15, 2017
Seferian-Jenkins just battled his ass off to get into the end zone there. Jets cut this to a 24-21 game, PAT pending, with 8:24 left Q4.
— Mike Ashmore (@mashmore98) October 15, 2017
And boy did it pend…
— NFL Update (@MySportsUpdate) October 15, 2017
That Austin Seferian-Jenkins TD-to-fumble-overturn might legitimately be the worst NFL call I've ever seen. End replay. It's over.
— Brandon Anderson (@wheatonbrando) October 15, 2017
Wow! Can’t believe that horrible call. Just hand the game to them refs… #Jets
— Jomar Miinel (@Coach_Vazquez7) October 15, 2017
I don’t like the jets but i don’t understand that call. They should have had that touchdown. These refs are horrible
— em (@emilywadlinger) October 15, 2017
Bless your heart, Emily.
one of most embarrassing officiating performances this year. If there was a 'fumble' on that play, it didn't occur on 3 replays they showed
— Connor Rogers (@ConnorJRogers) October 15, 2017
The Jets defense then took over. They stopped the Patriots on the next drive and then after the Jets added a field goal to make it 24-17 and draw within a score, the Jets defense stopped New England AGAIN to give the offense a shot to send the game into overtime.
— Austin (@AustinArnold1) October 15, 2017
McCown is going to lead the Jets to a final TD drive, mark my words
— Will McDonald (@willtmcd) October 15, 2017
I wanted be as confident as Will one day…but yeah, we all know what happened…
— Rob Connett (@RobConnett1) October 15, 2017
It's McCown so whatever but he had someone wide open on the last play of the game and air mailed a ball to no man's land. Cadet? #Jets
— Drew (@DrewfromJersey) October 16, 2017
— Friar Tuck (@AngerHeSmiles) October 15, 2017
It wasn’t really sadness on #JetsTwitter this week. It was anger. Which is good! That means we’re pretty much all invested at this point whether we promised ourselves we wouldn’t be or not.
Last tweet about that call in the #Jets game yesterday: every single one of my colleagues (all Patriots fans) agreed that the call was bogus
— J. Frier, MA, MBA (@JSFrier) October 16, 2017
Have to give Bowles and the #Jets credit they continue to play hard. A flawed team that is united and refuses to quit
— Tyson Rauch (@TRauch21) October 15, 2017
Todd Bowles — who was set up to fail by the Jets — might be the best coach of any of the New York area sports teams. THINK ABOUT THAT.
— Mike Judge (@TheEsquireof212) October 16, 2017
Y’all really hate Joe Girardi that much? Sheesh…
On conf call, I asked #Jets Josh McCown if he now understands why ASJ TD was overturned: "No, I don't know." Says time to move on to Miami.
— Kimberly Jones (@KimJonesSports) October 16, 2017
And onwards we go…
