New York Giant Jerrel Jernigan and New York Jet Muhammad Wilkerson to Host Football Camp

Wayne, NJ., March 17, 2014 – New York Giant Jerrel Jernigan, New York Jet Muhammad Wilkerson, and members of the Giants and Jets are scheduled to attend a football camp this summer for newcomer and seasoned players alike to learn individual and team techniques on both offense and defensive positions at the Jernigan and Wilkerson Football Camp held on July 7-10, 2014.

The football camp, offering both overnight and day camp options, will be held at William Patterson University and will feature Jerrel Jernigan and Muhammad Wilkerson. The camp is designed for players ages 7 to 18 and will feature daily instruction, lectures, and demonstrations by Jernigan, Wilkerson, and members of the Giants and Jets. The college and high school coaches on staff will ensure each practice will be filled with in-depth instruction, lectures, and demonstrations. Campers will be grouped by age, position, ability and experience to allow coaches to progressively teach basic and advanced techniques to best benefit each group.

“I’m excited to host this football camp and for the opportunity to work with young players on improving their skills,” says Wilkerson.

Football newcomers and seasoned players alike will also experience teamwork, self-discipline, selecting the correct role models, and how to attain their sports and life potential. Even though this is not an “autograph camp,” members of the Giants and Jets will be available for autographs.

Jernigan scored his first three touchdowns as a Giant in his last two games in 2013, turning in a combined 12 catches for 170 yards and two receiving touchdowns, as well as a 49 yard rushing TD in the season finale against Washington.

“I love how the players are attentive and enthusiastic about football. They get to learn the game at a young age and learn it the right way,” said Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz, who attended the camp in 2011.

Wilkerson finished the 2013 season with 10.5 sacks, first on the Jets and tied for seventh in the AFC.
