New York Jets Film Room – Sheldon Richardson (Preseason Summary)

Dan Essien with a film room breakdown of New York Jets DE Sheldon Richardson this preseason through three weeks

Sheldon Richardson added a third consecutive week of impressive preseason play on Sunday. That’s good news for both the Jets and him personally as he looks to be in top form entering a contract year. Richardson is really raising his value in the market either by trade for the Jets or in free agency. We all know there are few things more terrifying for opponents than a motivated and focused Sheldon Richardson. Let’s take a look at how he has dominated so far against the run and pass respectively.

NFL Draft – 2018 QB Prospect Tracker & Rankings, Preview

Joe Malfa’s weekly power rankings of the top quarterbacks in college football…

The writing is on the wall for the New York Jets in 2017. With one of the worst rosters in the league (arguably the worst), Gang Green is pretty much a lock to land a top-five pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Throughout the season, Joe Malfa will put together a weekly power ranking of college football’s top QB prospects. It will act as a sort of “down on the farm” piece, because odds are the Jets will come come away from the draft with one of the QBs on this list.

Here are the initial rankings:

Preseason Week 3: Stock Up, Stock Down

Kyle Fahey with a stock report on the New York Jets after their third preseason game against he Giants…

The Jets played their annual Snoopy Bowl Preseason game against THE New York, Yacht riding, wall punching, fraud writing, Football Giants! An overall mind boggling game that made you scream, cry, cheer, and scream a little more. It ultimately ended up at the score of 32-31 in favor of the guys in blue after a failed two point conversion by Gang Green.

Initial Reaction – A Steaming Pile Of First Half Crap, Giants Beat Jets 32-31

Joe Caporoso with initial reaction to the New York Jets losing to the New York Giants in their 3rd preseason game, 32-31

The New York Jets were given a hard reality check across the face tonight against the New York Giants. Despite a rally in the second half on the back Bryce Petty (PETTY-SANITY!), they were trailing 29-3 at halftime. The primary reason for that deficit was the play of starting quarterback Christian Hackenberg, who looked completely overwhelmed for the second week in a row.

New York Jets – Bubble Hunting

Joe Caporoso on the New York Jets looking to improve by targeting other teams early September cuts…

On or by September 2nd every team in the NFL must trim their roster from 90 to 53 players. This means a potential 1,184 players (!) will be hitting the market at once. Arguably more than any team in the NFL, the New York Jets need to add talent. If they are smart, they will be ready to pounce to improve the depth and talent at multiple positions on their roster. Where should they look to add and who could be targets?

New York Jets Film Room – Defensive Flashes

Joe Caporoso with a film room breakdown of the New York Jets defense this preseason through two weeks

Despite an ugly first two games on offense, the New York Jets have shown encouraging signs on the defensive side of the football. Through two weeks, they have only allowed 19 points and one touchdown, while also recording 11 sacks and 3 turnovers. Considering this is a young unit with new starters all over the place outside of the defensive line, there is legitimate reason for optimism thus far. Let’s take a closer look at the tape…
