“Play Like A Jet” presents episode #12 of your weekly NY Jets debate show “What’s Your Point?” with Dalbin Osorio  vs Paulie Bruzzese. This week the guys do battle on four of the hottest topics surrounding the New York Jets immediately following the team’s 42-34 victory over the Indianapolis Colts at Metlife Stadium:

  1.  Besides Sam Darnold, who was the biggest key to the Jets’ victory today?
  2. The 1968 championship team was honored at halftime, so which Jet have you watched in your lifetime will you tell your ids and grandkids about the way some fans tell stories about having watched Joe Namath?
  3. Will Jets fans give Kirk Cousins a brutal reaction at Metlife next Sunday or is Darnold playing so well that the bitterness towards Cousins is gone?
  4. Which current Jets player would make the best choice to stop Thanos?

You will hear the answers to these topics debated with special guest Andrew Garda – writer at Pro Football Weekly and Football Guys – as the judge, jury, and executioner!

Initial Reaction – Two In A Row, New York Jets Roll Colts In Shootout

Joe Caporoso with initial reaction to the New York Jets 42-34 win over the Indianapolis Colts…

The New York Jets moved their record back to .500 today with a convincing 42-34 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. This was a game filled with big plays and receivers running wide open down the field for both offenses. The Jets defense spent the afternoon bending but not breaking and making massive plays that compensated for the yardage and points they let Andrew Luck compile. Offensively, Sam Darnold built on last week’s strong performance and outside of a first half interception played a nearly flawless game. Jets fans should be encouraged by the team handling business at home in back to back weeks and for seeing their team exceed 30 points three times in Sam Darnold’s first six games.

2018 NFL Best Bets Against the Spread – Week Six

Jake Benaquistio with his Best Bets for the NFL heading into week 6…

I went an abysmal 0-5 against the spread on my ‘best bets’ last week. I may need to go see a witch doctor or something to get myself out of this funk. Luckily, I love my picks this week and can already feel a hot streak coming. Here are some takeaways from an NFL weekend that cost me a lot of money:

  1. Sam Darnold and the Jets bounced back in a big way against Denver last Sunday. Not only did Darnold throw three touchdowns and make a few mesmerizing throws, but the Jets defense played lights out compared to their effort against Jacksonville.
  2. The Giants are a circus and I am 100% here for it. OBJ and Saquon are promising building blocks, but the fact that Eli is still starting under center is both confusing and hilarious.
  3. One of the teams that I loved going into this season was the Falcons, which now looks pretty foolish. No one could have predicted the injuries they’ve had on defense, but that team has looked lifeless.

Week 5 New York Jets Secondary Breakdown

Ben DiNapoli with a breakdown of the New York Jets secondary heading into week 6…

Although it’s early in the season and Sam Darnold’s development remains paramount, week 5 seemed like a tipping point for a team that was surrounded by scrutiny and seemingly trending in the wrong direction. Luckily, the Jets responded and took care of the Broncos thanks to strong performances across the board – the offense put up points and the defense was in control throughout the game, with the secondary keeping Case Keenum in check. Speaking of the secondary, the group was without number one corner Trumaine Johnson and lost Buster Skrine late in the 1st quarter, but was still able to limit the Broncos offense to 16 points.

Clay’s NFL Draft Cheat Sheet – Week 7

Clayton Smarslok with his weekly college football cheat sheet…

After a very entertaining week six of the college football season where three top-10 teams found their first loss of the season, we now enter week seven that contains some of the best games at this point of the season. No… Alabama is still not playing a good team but there are still three matchups between top-17 teams to watch today. Between that and prospects building their brand for the draft, it should be an excitement filled Saturday.
