Context Stats – Ryan Fitzpatrick vs The Chiefs

Edward Gorelik breaks down Ryan Fitzpatrick’s context stats against the Kansas City Chiefs…

Statistics let us remove emotional stimuli and focus on the hard truth of what happens. But we need to place statistics into their environment to gain context and understand what’s really happening. Fitzpatrick having 60% accuracy doesn’t tell you any real information, but 60% accuracy throwing against man coverage gives you something to work with. That’s the purpose of this season-long project.

New York Jets Passing Game Breakdown, Week 3 (Chiefs)

Joe Caporoso breaks down the (horror) film on the New York Jets passing game in week 3…

WARNING: The following may be considered disturbing to some viewers. Please exercise caution when viewing the below GIFs and images which show what was an attempt at a NFL passing game on this previous Sunday between the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs.

Folks, I’ve seen Sanchez, McElroy and Lindley go toe to toe. I’ve seen the Geno Smtih/Marty Mornhinweg/David Nelson recreation offense. I’ve watched Brooks Bollinger in primetime. I saw Tom Tupa replace Vinney Testaverde and Rick Mirer replace Tupa. I witnessed the Quincy Carter games and Matt Simms playing. What transpired on Sunday was just as bad, if not worse than any of it. On to the #TAPE…

Initial Reaction – Dumpster Fire, FitzTragic Leads Pathetic Jets Effort

Joe Caporoso with initial reaction to the New York Jets 24-3 tire fire loss to the Kansas City Chiefs

The New York Jets had an opportunity for a statement victory in Kansas City today…that opportunity was drowned in a barrage of Ryan Fitzpatrick interceptions, six to be exact. The Jets JR Smith roller coaster ride of a quarterback was the worst version of himself today, putting together what is likely to be one of the worst performances of any quarterback this year, if not the worst. He finished 20/44 for 188 yards with 6 interceptions and 0 touchdowns. What else happened in a sobering reality check for the now 1-2 Jets?

New York Jets – Forte Showing Value…

Nikki Charlesworth on the value shown by Matt Forte so far this season…

The Jets offense were on fire against the Bills in week two, and with three touchdowns in that game, Matt Forte is cementing his position as a key weapon. His 196 yards over the first two games rank him fourth in the league in rushing and contribute greatly to the Jets entering week three ranking fourth in total offense. Unsurprisingly, he was awarded Fed Ex Ground Player of the Week for his triple touchdown performance.
