New York Jets 1st & Forever – The Adam Gase Rant

Stephen Russo with his 1st and 10 rant on the New York Jets and Adam Gase

1st…

I’m guilty. I allowed myself to buy in… sort of. I let my desire to remain objective cloud my judgment. Now let me be clear; I was out on the Gase hire when it was made. I was all the way out on it. I was in the “anybody but Gase” camp. But, when they made the hire, I figured I had to make the best of it. I probably gave him more credit than what was due for a 6-2 finish in 2019. I allowed him to convince me here and there with the little things – the quips, the snarky replies to reporters, Sam Darnold’s belief in him, and yes, Chris Simms interview with Connor Rogers on the Badlands podcast. I thought that maybe there was more to him than meets the eye. Maybe there are things that I am not seeing that is going to lead to him being better than what I thought I knew. I even went as far as texting my father that I thought I was “warming up” to Gase on the Thursday before the season opener.

Boy, was I wrong.

New York Jets Secondary Review – Week 2

Michael Meegan breaks down the New York Jets secondary in week 2

The Jets secondary was atrocious on Sunday against San Francisco.  Jimmy Garappolo   carved up the secondary on one leg completing 14 out of 16 passes for 131 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Seeing that the Jets were no threat Nick Mullens played the second half and the Jets struggled to stop him as well.  In a week with very few positives lets hand out some awards!

New York Jets: Week 2 Offensive Review

Dan Essien with a statistical review of the Jets week 2 performance against San Francisco

The Jets offense needs to be under the microscope. This season, this offensive review segment will take a deeper look at how functional this offense is from week to week. We’ll analyze offensive efficiency, play-calling, personnel, and other data points. This will also help us take a deeper look at where Sam Darnold succeeds and where he struggles. I’ll also be marking improvements or regressions against the season average for certain stats. Today let’s go through week 2 vs. San Francisco.

Matt’s Week Two Takes – Jets Keep Getting Worse

Matthew Marciano with observations on the New York Jets week 2 blowout loss

Watching the Jets play another embarrassing game this week, for their home opener, in which they lost to the San Francisco 49ers 31-13, shows just how bad of a season is upon us as Jets fans.

There are many things to point about this week two loss to the 49ers. First off the 49ers were playing, as the game went on, without some of their star players, such as Quarterback Jimmy Garroppolo, WR George Kittle and DE Nick Bosa. Despite some of their best players not on the field from them, the Niners were able to take care of the Jets, which started with the first play from scrimmage from the Niners, a yard touchdown run from Raheem Mostert (who also got injured later in this game).

New York Jets Sad Truth – It Is Not Just Adam Gase’s Fault

Dylan Price on the New York Jets ownership problem…

Yes, Adam Gase is one of the worst, if not the worst coach in the league. Still, even though most of the poor play of the Jets early has been on Gase’s shoulders, and rightfully so, not all of it should be.

The Sam Darnold Deep Dive Week 2 – San Francisco 49ers

Stephen Zantz with a deep dive on Sam Darnold in week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers…

The Jets hosted the San Francisco 49ers today and might as well stayed in the locker room because there wasn’t much of a fight. The Jets fell to the Niners 31-13 but the score is much closer than the game actually was. Here is the deep dive of Sam Darnold’s performance. FIRE ADAM GASE

New York Jets – The Johnson Bros Need to Go

Matthew Marciano on why the New York Jets need an ownership change…

The Johnson Brothers as owners of the NY Jets just do not get how to run a football team. Let’s face it – as Jets fans we are always frustrated with some aspect of this team. From keeping the same coach well past when they should have been fired, to never addressing free agency needs and bringing top name free agents to the team, to making draft mistake after draft mistake. However, Jets owner Christopher Johnson saying earlier this week that he fully supports embattled Jets head coach Adam Gase and that he is an “offensive mastermind” shows how beyond clueless Jets ownership are with what is really going on and they need to sell this team. It is frustrating that the Jets fans have had to endure for years, especially the past couple of years, with a very mediocre Sam Darnold and one of the worst head coaches in the NFL, Adam Gase.
