New York Jets – Get To Know Brandon Wilds

Last week, the New York Jets promoted running back Brandon Wilds from the practice squad to the active roster following the release of CJ Spiller and Jeremy Ross. Wilds saw his first action in Green and White in the week 14 victory against San Francisco, with two rushing attempts for four yards. Not the most auspicious of debuts, but with Matt Forte leaving the same game with a knee injury of, as yet, unconfirmed severity, we may see more of him in the coming weeks as part of the backfield rotation.

Initial Reaction – The New York Jets Won?

The New York Jets ended their four game losing streak with a comeback victory against the now 1-12 San Francisco 49ers, 23-17 in overtime. Many will be frustrated with the win because of draft position but ultimately the Jets were probably locked in to picking between 4th and 6th anyway. This was an encouraging day for many of the younger players on the roster and hopefully will be a game for many of them to build off of going forward.

Examining the New York Jets Young WRs

Daniel Essien takes a closer look at the young New York Jets wide receivers, who should be a focal point of their offense going forward

The Jets have a number of positions that have underperformed this season but the one position that seems to be trending upwards is wide receiver. The Jets have put together a good group at wide receiver beyond their top two, Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker. The injury to Decker this season helped magnify the emergence of Quincy Enunwa. These last four games, however, will be the perfect opportunity for the Jets to examine the next four receivers: Robby Anderson, Charone Peake, Jalin Marshall, and Devin Smith.
