Once an offseason filled with hype and big player predictions concluded, Jets fans were anxious to see how the team would respond on the field when real game action began. Safe to say, the team exceeded expectations on every side of the ball, cruising to a dominant 48-17 victory over the Detroit Lions. When keeping an explosive offense like the Lions in check, it’s a given that the secondary performed at a high level, but who stood out and who needs to improve going forward?

New York Jets Coaching Report Card – Week 1

Man oh man, how about that season opener? If not all of us, then most of us went into Monday night thinking the Jets would most likely compete and possibly win the game but boy were we wrong in the greatest of ways. After a dominant 48-17 win over the Lions, the team must put the game behind them and look forward to their next game against Miami. As for us, we’re going to take a look back and grade the coaches in all three facets of the game.

Initial Reaction – Everything Is Awesome, Jets Do Everything In Destruction Of Lions

Well, that was fun. The New York Jets overcame a first play from a hell to throughly dominate the Detroit Lions 48-17. Yes, 48-17. This was not just your run of the mill blowout (which rarely occurs as is in the Jets favor), this was a Christmas Day, it is raining everything Jets fans ever wanted to see in the box score blowout. It was a cleansing primetime party where a long suffering fan base was able to throw their head back in laughter and enjoy the spoils of a potentially very bright future.
