Initial Reaction – New York Jets Select ArDarius Stewart

Joe Caporoso with initial reaction to the New York Jets selection of Alabama WR ArDarius Stewart

The New York Jets traded back in the 3rd round from #70 to #79 and picked up an extra fifth round pick from the Minnesota Vikings. With their third round selection, they selected Alabama wide receiver ArDarius Stewart, a mild surprise considering the round, his skill set and position.

TOJ Pick Six – Jets Best/Worst Case Scenario for Day 2 of NFL Draft

Dalbin Osorio with a TOJ Pick Six and of best and worst case scenarios for the New York Jets on day two of the NFL Draft

The New York Jets got the best player in the draft for the second time in three years under General Manager Mike Maccagnan by selecting LSU Safety Jamal Adams. This was a great pick coupled with some luck, as Adams should not have been on the board at 6. Repeat it after me: Jamal Adams is not a box safety. We’ll do a deeper dive into how Adams fits on this roster in the next day or so, but with this article we’ll take a look at who the best pick at 39, 70, and 107 are for the Jets tonight. I will also provide you the worst case scenario, aside from not making a pick at all, for these picks. Continue reading “TOJ Pick Six – Jets Best/Worst Case Scenario for Day 2 of NFL Draft”

Joe Caporoso on day two options for the New York Jets in the NFL Draft

The New York Jets made a widely expected and generally popular pick in the first round with LSU safety Jamal Adams. Yet, the real money is made on day two and day three of the NFL Draft. Initial Reaction – New York Jets Select Jamal Adams

Joe Caporoso with initial reaction to the New York Jets selecting Jamal Adams

As expected.

The New York Jets took the player everybody expected them to take if he was available with the 6th overall pick, safety Jamal Adams from LSU. With Mitchell Trubisky off the board at #2 (HA!), the options to trade down for the Jets were likely limited, leaving them to take the second overall player on their board.
