Projecting a team’s depth chart can be a helpful process to demonstrate who will see the majority of playing time in an upcoming season. New York Jets – What Could They Have Done Differently?

Heading into year three of the Mike Maccagnan/Todd Bowles regime, the New York Jets have fully hit the reset the button. After two years of missing the playoffs, they have cleared the roster of nearly all veterans and are entering the season projected by most as one of the worst, if not the worst, team in the NFL. Many are anticipating a top five pick to compliment what should be 70-80 million dollars in cap space to spend, after further veteran subtractions are made. 

What could Maccagnan have done different throughout his first two years plus on the job to avoid likely starting his GM career with three straight years of missing the playoffs? The response to the question on Twitter has led to an interesting range of responses. Here is an overview of a few different paths that could have been taken.
