Initial Reaction – New York Jets Select Elijah McGuire

The New York Jets selected RB Elijah McGuire from Louisiana Lafayette with the 188th overall pick in the 6th round. The Jets wanted to add a dynamic running back to the mix with Matt Forte and Bilal Powell so this doesn’t come as a surprise. They haven’t had good fortune adding running backs in free agency in recent years so let’s hope adding one through the draft goes better.

The New York Jets selected Jordan Leggett with the 150th overall pick in the 5th round. This draft’s tight end class is strong and the Jets needed to leave with at least one and they finally selected one.

Examining the New York Jets Young WRs

Daniel Essien takes a closer look at the young New York Jets wide receivers, who should be a focal point of their offense going forward

The Jets have a number of positions that have underperformed this season but the one position that seems to be trending upwards is wide receiver. The Jets have put together a good group at wide receiver beyond their top two, Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker. The injury to Decker this season helped magnify the emergence of Quincy Enunwa. These last four games, however, will be the perfect opportunity for the Jets to examine the next four receivers: Robby Anderson, Charone Peake, Jalin Marshall, and Devin Smith.
