Cody Emerson on a disappointing 2019 debut from Sam Darnold
There are many factors for why the Jets lost on Sunday. The corners were as bad as we thought they’d be. The pass rush was non existent and essentially made it a flag football game for Josh Allen. The kicker who they just signed off the street looked just like someone they signed off the street. However the most concerning thing for me was the regression of Sam Darnold. (more…)
Cody Emerson breaks down the struggles of New York Jets ILB Darron Lee
While yesterday was disappointing on many fronts, the lack of efficiency with the New York Jets starting defense was the most apparent. Alex Smith dinked and dunked up and down the field. After that series, Colt McCoy passed on the defense with ease against starters, while throwing to the likes of the dangerous Trey Quinn (the last pick of this year’s draft). (more…)
Cody Emerson on players he does not want to see the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins or New England Patriots draft this weekend…
With the NFL Draft approaching in two days and most of us going back and forth on if it’s gonna be Baker Mayfield or Josh Rosen, it’s easy to forget that there are still over 200 other picks happening. It is also an extremely interesting time for the AFC East The Jets have accepted their rebuild the past two seasons and now have a team with some young talented players and potentially a rookie QB in line to be the face of the franchise. (more…)
Cody Emerson with day two tight end prospects the New York Jets could consider…
With the NFL Draft a week away and much of the focus on which quarterback the New York Jets will end up taking, there are still five other picks they have. With the 72nd pick the Jets have an opportunity to fill another hole they currently have at TE. Since Dustin Keller, they have backfilled the position with converted WRs (Jeff Cumberland), scrapheap signings like Kellen Davis and Austin Seferian-Jenkins or Quincy Enunwa at H-Back… (more…)
Cody Emerson with thoughts on the New York Jets draft plans, with only one month to go until the big weekend…
There are only 30 days left until the NFL draft. What should you as a New York Jets fan be prepared for? (more…)
Cody Emerson with a “Plan B” for the New York Jets offseason if Kirk Cousins signs with the Minnesota Vikings…
In their State of the Union’ address at the combine, Todd Bowles and Mike Macagnnan said that they have several backup plans for their QB position. While Kirk Cousins is Plan A, there have been talks of a ‘Teddy Bridgewater/Josh McCown’ Plan B which is just gross.
If the Jets miss out on Kirk Cousins here is my plan as to how the Jets can still steadily improve (more…)
Cody Emerson on pass rushers the New York Jets could target in the 2018 NFL Draft…
Throughout my New York Jets fandom, the offseason has been my Super Bowl. Hypothesizing about how Mike Tannenbaum, John Idzik or Mike Maccagnan will turn this team around is always a fun game. In the Rex Ryan era we were always an edge rusher and second corner away (LITO SHEPHERD YOU COST US THE GAME AGAINST THE COLTS!) from taking the next step as a defense.
I’d watch the Senior Bowl religiously as well as the combine seeing which edge rusher could help us because our interior line *elite*.
It was hours upon hours spent looking at how Brooks Reed three cone drill was historically good, Justin Houston’s off the field issues weren’t that serious, how Melvin Ingram’s height would not be an issue because he was so explosive, how Vic Beasley would prove to be a three down lineman despite his frame and Noah Spence was worth taking a shot on despite limited competition. In the end, the Jets would choose a 3-4 defensive end (three times) or an ILB over these players and here we are 10 years later still without an explosive edge rusher.

The New York Jets and Mike Maccagnan are in a great spot to land a franchise cornerstone at quarterback. They will have close to 100 million in cap space and the 6th overall pick this offseason.
