Joe Caporoso with a midseason deep dive on the New York Jets eternal rebuild
The New York Jets have hit the halfway mark of the regular season at a familiar 3-5 record. It was their record each of the previous two years through eight games and right in the ballpark of their record through eight games every season since 2010 (the last time they made the playoffs). Instead of doing a loss vent on the Jets 24-10 coma inducing defeat to the Chicago Bears, let’s take a bigger step back to discuss the Jets eternally ongoing rebuild, most recently stewarded by Mike Maccagnan and Todd Bowles.

Dalbin Osorio with a pick six of potential HC replacements for Todd Bowles…
With the New York Jets currently sitting at 3-5, and another season likely not ending in a playoff appearance, this fanbase will most likely start looking towards the off-season. Armed with 3 top 100 picks and $100M in cap space, as well as their presumptive franchise QB in Sam Darnold entering year 2, this is set to become one of the more attractive jobs for potential head coaches should the team decide to move on from Head Coach Todd Bowles. Here are six candidates I would look towards, plus a prediction at the bottom on who I think coaches Gang Green next year.
Joe Caporoso with initial reaction to the New York Jets 24-10 loss to the Chicago Bears…
The New York Jets were comically short handed on the offensive side of the football today due to a rash of injuries. Without their three best skill position players available (Quincy Enunwa, Robby Anderson, Bilal Powell), they rolled out a mish mash of Jermaine Kearse, Deontay Burnett, Andre Roberts, Trenton Cannon, a seemingly hobbled Isaiah Crowell and recently signed Rishard Matthews at receiver and running back.
Considering the circumstances expecting a Jets loss on the road was reasonable, however the organization playing like they expected to lose and playing like they welcomed a competitive loss is a problem. This is the culture of mediocrity we discussed last week and have talked about ad nauseous on this site. Today was another perfect demonstration of it in an uninspiring 24-10 loss to the Chicago Bears.
Dan Essien previews the New York Jets week 8 matchup against the Chicago Bears with Let’s Get Weird.
The New York Jets are coming off of a somewhat predictable loss to the Minnesota Vikings. This week doesn’t get any easier, though. With a bye week coming next in week 9 for the Jets, will they be taking momentum into the bye or some negativity. Let’s preview this matchup with the Bears in this week’s Let’s Get Weird.
