New York Jets Quarter Pole Analysis – The Good, The Bad and The Painfully Ugly

Joe Caporoso with a quarter pole analysis of the New York Jets 2018 season

The New York Jets are one fourth of the way through their 2018 schedule, which means it is a perfect time to step back to analyze what we have seen so far, project what we may see going forward, overreact to a few things and bring some levity to another potentially disappointing season.

TOJ Tweet Summary 2018, Week 4 – Jets vs. Jaguars

Daniel Essien recaps the Jets week 4 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars with #JetsTwitter

The New York Jets flew into Jacksonville hoping to at least regain some of their week 1 confidence. Unfortunately, this Jaguars team is a much more confident team than the one they faced week 4 in 2017. So did the Jets surpass expectations again? Well…I’ll let #JetsTwtiter tell the story.

Initial Reaction – Everything Is Bad, Jets Lifeless In 31-12 Loss To Jags…

Joe Caporoso with initial reaction to the New York Jets lifeless 31-12 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars…

The New York Jets put on a lifeless display of football this afternoon in Jacksonville, en route to a 31-12 loss to the Jaguars. They were overmatched from the opening whistle and coached a passive, conservative game that seemed geared to lose by as few points as possible instead of actually winning. Nobody thought this was a playoff team in 2018 but this team should be more competitive than this, especially for all the chest bumping they do about changing the culture.

2018 NFL Best Bets Against the Spread – Week Four

Jake Benaquisto with his NFL Best Bets for week 4…

Week Three was about as unpredictable as it could have been, but I was still able to go 3-2 on my best bets. I’m not sure why I thought it’d be a good idea to pick against the Rams, but I know it looks pretty stupid in hindsight. Here are some random NFL thoughts as we head into week four:

  1. Could this finally be the year that the Patriots stink and their dynasty ends?! I wouldn’t bet on it, but a loss against the Dolphins this week would be catastrophic.
  2. I think I’m ready to have the way-too-early Jared Goff MVP conversation. You can point to how much talent he has around him and the fact that Sean McVay is calling plays, but the guy was dropping dimes against the Vikings on Thursday night.
  3. Speaking of potential MVPs, I can’t wait to see how Pat Mahomes looks against the Broncos on Monday night. The Chiefs offense looked unstoppable again last week, but playing in Denver is a tough environment for a young QB.
  4. One pick that I like but didn’t put in my best bets is Atlanta -4.5 vs. Cincinnati. This Bengals team is better than I thought they’d be, but I don’t see the Falcons losing two games in a row at home. I could see Cincinnati getting a backdoor cover, but Atlanta should score enough to win by a touchdown.
