Mike Nolan grades and discusses the New York Jets’ offensive line. Here is his Week 17 look at their performance.
Each week I will be reviewing the coaches’ tape from the previous week’s game and grading out the performance of the New York Jets Offensive Line. This grading process is the same one I use to grade the offensive linemen I have coached at the college and high school levels. To see how I grade click here. To see previous Big Man Reports, click here. Let’s see how the big guys performed in week 17. I will post a full season recap BMR in the next few weeks.

Dan Marcus hands out some Game Balls for the Jets week 17 victory
This is the most celebrated 8-8 finish I can remember the Jets having with the rumors swirling around about Rex Ryan’s job future, this team really rallied around their beloved Head Coach and did not quit after being eliminated from playoff contention, winning their final two games and knocking the Dolphins out of the playoffs in the process. Despite completely fudging their draft position, the Jets played a great game against the Dolphins and some of the young players took some steps that make you believe the future is definitely bright for this team but enough preamble, let’s finish out the season strong with some Game Balls

Connor Rogers breaks down this weeks New York Jets story lines on Black Monday
The New York Jets finished off a surprising season with a win at Miami, eliminating the Dolphins from playing post season football. With that win, the Jets finish with an 8-8 record and second place in the AFC East. The Jets were supposed to win a maximum of four games and Rex Ryan was supposed to be canned, but that’s why they play the games, right? It can be tough to be happy with a season that ends without a playoff appearance, but the Jets surprised a ton of people this year. Most importantly, they have built positive momentum for next year. Lets take a look at this week’s story lines. Continue reading “Morning Cup of Coffee: Black Monday Edition”
Joe Caporoso with reaction to the New York Jets week 17 win and the announcment of Rex Ryan’s return
The New York Jets ended the season with an exclamation point today in Miami, knocking their division rival Dolphins out of the playoffs with an impressive 20-7 victory. Basically immediately after the game, Owner Woody Johnson announced that Rex Ryan will return as the Jets head coach in 2014. We haven’t received word about a contract extension but it is likely the Jets will add a year or two on to his deal. There are also rumblings that the defensive coaching staff could be shook up a little bit, so stay tuned for further information on that front.

This is a sad day as the NFL regular season comes to a close. No more fantasy football, no more tons of games to bet on every week, and for most fans, no more watching your favorite team play for the next nine months. But that doesn’t mean we can’t end this season with a bang and make some money right? Let’s get to it… Continue reading “TOJ Week 17 NFL Gambling Advice and Picks”

The New York Jets, fresh off a win against the Cleveland Browns, take their modest talents to South Beach for a Week 17 matchup against the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins need a win against the Jets to keep their playoff hopes alive, and the Jets have a chance to return the favor from 2011 when it was the Dolphins that ended the Jets playoff hopes in Miami. Time to get to know your opponent for Week 17.

Joe Caporoso with predictions for Jets/Dolphins and the final week of NFL action
Another year of 12 Packs is in the books, which means another season of covering the New York Jets is nearly in the books. The off-season often ends up being busier here than the regular season and I expect this year to be no exception. There is a potential coaching change on the way, nearly 50 million in cap space and likely 12 draft picks at the Jets disposal. We are lucky to have such a large collection of talented writers to cover what is sure to be a highly active January to August.
