The New York Jets will now officially be under .500 for the 4th straight season and for the 6th time in 9 years, while Adam Gase’s career record dropped to 28-35 with 26 double digit losses. It was a by the numbers blow out in Baltimore as the Ravens rolled the Jets on Thursday Night Football 42-21, in a game that wasn’t as close as the score indicates.

Gang Green got the win on a Ficken last-second field goal in a seemingly meaningless game and Jets Twitter was once again polarized.  Many fans insisted wins were more consequential while countless advocates clamored for the importance of a high draft pick. With Bell out—and bowling one heck of a game—some “discussed” his role in this offense while others contemplated the emergence of a certain quarterback in Tennessee.  It didn’t stop there, as Sam Darnold himself was questioned, and enthusiasts debated his legitimacy as a franchise quarterback.

New York Jets 1st & 10 – Ugly Wins

A win is a win. In this league, you’ll take it. While the narrative is different because the Jets are now 5-8, this is a game that would have been deemed a “gutty” performance had it gotten the Jets to 8-5. The truth is that ugly wins count just as much as dominant wins and are the marks of a good team. The other truth is that the last nine years of ugly football and the first 11 months of Adam Gase’s tenure with the Jets haven’t afforded this team much in the way of credit for ugly wins.
