We answer YOUR mailbag questions including:

-Should the Jets consider letting Jamal Adams play out his contract rather than worry about locking him up to an extension 2 years before the contract expires?

-Which player is likely to be Joe Douglas’ first target once free agency begins?

-Would it be worth passing on a premium position at #11 if a playmaking wide receiver was still available?

-Could certain members of the Jets’ coaching staff be in danger of being replaced?

-If you were taking a journey to the center of the earth and could only bring 3 current Jets with you, who would they be and why?

Uncertainty surrounding the 11th pick in the upcoming NFL draft has sparked much debate; who may or may not be available is anybody’s guess.  Trading back is always an option, but it’s a lot easier said than done. Regardless, let’s have some fun, rack our brains, and contemplate some potential trade down scenarios in this week’s, “Joe Jet 5.”

2020 Senior Bowl Preview: Offense

Clay Smarslok with his preview of the offensive players in the 2020 Senior Bowl

The Jets are finally getting to the point to where we can call this Joe Douglas’s team, rather than Mike Maccagnan. There are still quite a few stages before we reach that point in time but where it all starts is the Senior Bowl.

Douglas and his staff; Chad Alexander, Phil Savage and Rex Hogan, can all be expected to be at the event. As we all know, they have a lot of work to do, even if they did finish 6-2 in the second half of the season. This is where they will talk to teams, maybe strike up conversations regarding future deals but nothing is more important than getting the opportunity to watch these 100+ players that could have an impact in the NFL less than 10 months from now.

New York Jets Post Week 17 Mock Draft

Greg Armstrong With A Post Week 17 Mock Draft…

The New York Jets season has ended and for the ninth straight season, there will be no playoffs. There is a massive amount of work to be done in the offseason. Barring anything insane happening, Adam Gase will be back for 2020. The roster needs a major overhaul at several key positions but there also needs to be depth added. The Jets have long been one injury away from starting practice squad level players. I took a stab at a post Week 17 mock to see if we can add some pieces that hopefully can push this team into the playoff hunt. (Mock draft done with The Draft Network mock draft machine).

New York Jets – Day One/Two Mock 2020 Draft

Michael Meegan with a mock for the New York Jets on day one/two of the 2020 NFL Draft…

While the NFL Draft order is constantly changing, this much is certain, the Jets will have four picks within the top 75 picks, thanks to their poor on field performance and Joe Douglas fleecing the Giants for a 3rd round pick in exchange for Leonard Williams.

New York Jets Mock Draft 2.0 – December Edition

Greg Armstrong with a seven round mock draft for the New York Jets

We’re heading into the last quarter of the season with the Jets have more holes to fill on the roster than stable positions. It’s been a long tumultuous season filled with some ups but mostly downs. Joe Douglas has his work cut out for him and he needs to hit on a high rate of players not only in free agency, but complementing a good free agency period with a very good draft. I took a stab at filling some needs for the 2020 Jets. (draft done with TDN Mock Simulator with their TDN predictive board). (more…)
