The Story of Ashtyn Davis’ Rise from Walk-On to Jets Safety – “You Knew He Was Going to be Special”

James Kuntz breaks down Asthyn Davis’ rise from walk-on to the New York Jets by talking with the people who saw his growth first hand…

When Ashtyn Davis was drafted by the Jets, many fans were confused.

At the time, safety was arguably the team’s strongest position, but it soon became clear why Davis was the Jets’ choice. Davis was a consensus top-45 prospect who slipped to pick 79 due to injury. In addition, the Jets were entering a contract year with safety Marcus Maye and under pressure to extend super-star safety Jamal Adams to a record-setting contract. The Jets believed that Davis not only presented inordinate value as a third round pick but could also provide the team with flexibility in its upcoming contract negotiations with Adams and Maye.

New York Jets – The Ideal Coaching Staff

James Kuntz lays out the ideal New York Jets coaching staff…

Let’s make it happen 🙏🏾”

As a result, it’s worth examining whether the Jets should sign Clowney. In this article, Dan Essien argues for signing Clowney, while James Kuntz argues the contrary.

New York Jets – How the Adams Trade Will Be Used to Build a Super Bowl Team

I will be writing an article a day this week as part of a column entitled “Flying Under the Radar.” Each article will provide short, hard-hitting analysis on 3-4 under-discussed topics regarding players, roster construction, the coaching staff, and the front office. I originally intended to discuss my biggest takeaways from Joe Douglas’ first offseason, but have delayed the release of that article until tomorrow morning, so I can provide my thoughts about the long-term affects of the Jamal Adams trade in this piece.

Here are a three consequences of the Jamal Adams trade that fans should be talking about more:

Initial Reaction – New York Jets Sign QB Joe Flacco

James Kuntz with initial reaction to the New York Jets signing backup QB Joe Flacco

The New York Jets signed Quarterback Joe Flacco to a 1 year, $1.5 million deal worth that includes an additional $3 million in incentives. Flacco underwent neck surgery in April and is expected to return by September. Flacco’s signing signifies what is likely to be the final addition to the 2020 Quarterback room, which now includes Darnold, Flacco, James Morgan, and David Fales.
