Initial Reaction – Not There Yet, Jets Lose Tough One In New England

Joe Caporoso on the New York Jets 30-23 loss to the New England Patriots

Despite leading going into the fourth quarter and having their opportunities late, the New York Jets lost a tough 30-23 game to the New England Patriots, who remain King in the AFC East. The Jets will be kicking themselves for some of the plays they left on the field in a game where they probably did not get New England’s best shot. Regardless, they must move on quickly with a cross country trip on the way to take on the suddenly feisty Oakland Raiders…

Initial Reaction – New York Jets Own Second Half, Smoke ‘Skins

Joe Caporoso with initial reaction to the New York Jets 34-20 win over the Washington Redskins, moving them to 4-1

The New York Jets continued their impressive start to the 2015 regular season with a 34-20 win over the Washington Redskins, moving their record to 4-1. Beating Washington at home in itself is not overly impressive but the way today’s game played out showed why the Jets may have a hit home run with their coaching staff hires and new free agent/trade acquisitions…

Initial Reaction – Ugly Fun, Jets Run Over Fading Dolphins

Joe Caporoso with initial reaction to the New York Jets 27-14 win over the Miami Dolphins

The New York Jets moved to 3-1, 3-0 in the AFC and 1-0 in the AFC East with a 27-14 win over the Miami Dolphins, their third double digit win of the season. Despite 14 penalties, poor special teams play and an endless fourth quarter that saw the Dolphins hang around longer than expected, the Jets were still clearly the superior team and in control throughout. It is fair to wonder if the Dolphins are headed to a full scale housecleaning after this game…

Initial Reaction – Ugly First Half Dooms Jets in 24-17 Loss

Joe Caporoso with initial reaction to the New York Jets first loss of the season, 24-17 to the Philadelphia Eagles

The New York Jets suffered their first loss of the season today to the Philadelphia Eagles, 24-17 thanks primarily to an ugly first half which saw them fall behind 24-0. There were multiple culprits today as in any loss but it was frustrating to see how winnable this game was despite all of the Jets errors. If there is a game to lose, it is to an out of conference opponent but the Jets will need to clean their act up in 7 days before a critical division game against the Miami Dolphins.

Initial Reaction – All The Turnovers, Jets Smack Colts 20-7

Joe Caporoso with initial reaction to the New York Jets 20-7 win over the Indianapolis Colts

The New York Jets got themselves a statement win in primetime by knocking off the Indianapolis Colts 20-7 tonight. This was a game that wasn’t as close as the score indicated, as a sluggish Jets offense allowed the Colts to hang around despite their defense forcing five…yes five, turnovers. Regardless, the Jets took care of business late and showed they just may be a force to be reckoned with in a very jumbled AFC.

Initial Reaction – Business Handled, Jets Whip Browns 31-10

Joe Caporoso with an initial reaction to the New York Jets season opening 31-10 win over the Cleveland Browns

The New York Jets started off their 2015 regular season on the right foot with a commanding 31-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns. After a sluggish start, the Jets ripped off 24 unanswered points and turned in a balanced, disciplined performance. The two numbers that mattered the most today? The Jets had four penalties and were plus four in the turnover battle…

Initial Reaction – Jets Drop to 3-12, End Is Almost Here

Joe Caporoso on the New York Jets 17-16 loss to the New England Patriots

The New York Jets competed today, as many expected but ultimately fell short against the New England Patriots 17-16. It was another frustrating loss in a season that is mercifully one week from ending. As we have seen time and time again, no matter how good your defense decides to be against certain opponents, you can’t win if your offense and special teams is porous.

Initial Reaction – New York Jets Win A Game!

Initial reaction to the New York Jets 20-13 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers

The New York Jets ended their eight game losing streak today with an impressive 20-13 win over the favored Pittsburgh Steelers. It was basically bizarro world at MetLife Stadium as they forced four turnovers, including Jaiquawn Jarrett’s first two career interceptions, avoided any turnovers themselves and hit a huge play down the field in the passing game. They will now have two weeks to prepare for a road game in Buffalo and hopefully begin a strong end to their season. Without a doubt, there were plenty of bitter Steelers fans and people in #FireIdzik shirts leaving MetLife Stadium this afternoon. Let’s get into it…

Initial Reaction – Eight In A Row, Jets Lose 24-10

Joe Caporoso on the New York Jets eight straight loss, 24-10 to the Kansas City Chiefs

As we are accustomed to writing on Sundays, the New York Jets lost today. This time it was 24-10 to the Kanas City Chiefs, their eighth straight loss. Rex Ryan is now 23-34 since the beginning of 2011 and has 23 losses by 10 points or more. The Jets were relatively competitive but it never really felt like they were in position to make a move to win the game. Generally, despite a few standout performances it was the same somewhat unprepared, poorly organized and undermanned at certain positions team we have seen all season. The Jets are very much in the mix for the top pick in the NFL Draft, as there aren’t any of signs of a turnaround on the way…
