NFL Draft – 2019 Big Board, Version 1.0

Dalbin Osorio with an initial big board for the 2019 NFL Draft…

With the NFL Draft just concluded, we’ll have grades and analysis of the picks and UDFAs over the next few weeks, but it’s also never too late to start to think about 2019 and who the New York Jets could target with their first round pick. I won’t pretend to know where that will land, but I do anticipate that four teams will be looking for quarterbacks next year (Dolphins, Bengals, Saints, and Washington). This will undoubtedly push some talent down to where the Jets can land an impact player even if they’re picking in the mid-teens. Let’s take a look at who the top 32 prospects are to watch as Spring Football kicks off, and who the Jets could target.

NFL Draft 2018 – Top Ten Day Two Targets For The New York Jets

Dalbin Osorio with ten players the New York Jets could target on day two of the NFL Draft…

The work is not done yet, as the New York Jets now look to continue to add talent in the second day of the draft. The team currently only has one pick today (pick 72), but Jets General Manager Mike Maccagnan has not been averse to moving around the draft. Before getting started here, make sure you read our initial reaction on the Jets selecting franchise QB Sam Darnold. This BPA will only highlight players that fit needs for the Jets, and you’ll see my Big Board ranking in parenthesis.

NFL Draft 2018 – Final First Round Mock and New York Jets 7 Rounds (Dalbin Osorio)

Dalbin Osorio with his final first round mock and New York Jets seven round mock for the 2018 NFL Draft…

We have finally made it, to the most important draft for the New York Jets in the last decade. The Jets are in position, with the second part of one of the better two year drafts at Quarterback, to select their franchise QB. All of the talent the Jets have added this offseason won’t matter if they don’t pick the right QB. Other teams are angling for talent as well, so here’s my final first round mock with a couple of trades thrown in for good measure…

We have finally made it to arguably the most important draft week of the last decade for the New York Football Jets. The Jets moved up to the third spot in the NFL Draft about a month ago, with their eyes on finally drafting a franchise QB. While there is some skepticism over who Jets General Manager Mike Maccagnan will pick, the odds are lined up for Jets fans to be very happy. Should Potential New York Jets QB Josh Rosen Shut Up And Throw?

Dalbin Osorio on why Josh Rosen should never “just shut up and throw”

“That’s just not me,” Josh Rosen says of the designer labels offered to him during an ESPN The Magazine shoot.

In a word: no. It is not him, just like him having to shut up and throw is not him. Josh Rosen, the best QB in this draft to this writer, has been heavily scrutinized more for what happens to him off the field than anything that could happen to him on the field. Before they even mention the 61% completion rate, they talk about the hat he wore to send a message on a golf course. Without discussing his two to one interception ratio, they rip apart his comments defending current Jacksonville Jaguar RB Leonard Fournette for not playing in a Bowl Game. Rosen openly talks about wanting to win multiple Super Bowls, and the retort becomes “he didn’t even win a Pac 12 title.” That is maybe the only time the criticism is kept on the field. You hear their tone though: less is more, they say, and Rosen needs to start giving less.
