New York Jets Loss Vent, Week 8 – Trade Deadline Thoughts, Bye Leonard Williams

Joe Caporoso with a New York Jets loss vent and thoughts on their moves at the trade deadline

There is not much to vent about the New York Jets loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. A bad and unprepared football team lost to an average football team handily. The Jets may win a few of their next six games since three of them are against teams who are currently winless and two of them are against a team openly trying to lose but it will not obscure the realities about how far away this team is right now from being a contender.

The rebuilding (one more time!) process started at the trade deadline today with the moving of Leonard Williams for a 3rd round pick next year and a 5th round pick in 2021 (that could become a 4th round pick if the Giants sign him long term).

Initial Reaction – Stacking Ls, Listless Jets Handled By Jaguars

Joe Caporoso with initial reaction to the New York Jets 29-15 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, dropping their record to 1-6

Another week, another double digit loss for the New York Jets, who kicked off the “soft” part of their schedule today with a 29-15 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Adam Gase now has more double digit losses (25) than wins (24) in his coaching career, as the Jets dropped to 1-6 overall and 2-15 in their past 17 games. Sam Darnold’s return to the lineup has been far from a cure all for the Jets who again looked unprepared on defense and completely overmatched on offense.

New York Jets Loss Vent, Week 7 – The No Show Job

Joe Caporoso on the New York Jets latest blowout loss to New England

There are no excuses for the New York Jets performance last night. New England is the best team in football but we have seen teams like Washington, the Giants and even Miami be more competitive against them than the effort the Jets put forward last night.

Hell, the Jets were more competitive against them with Bryce Petty under center and Todd Bowles coaching than they were last night. It was a no show job. A no show job on national television in the team’s first chance for a “big” win since the Minnesota game in October of last year.

Initial Reaction – Primetime Pummeling, Jets Embarrassed…Again

Joe Caporoso with initial reaction to the New York Jets 33-0 drubbing at the hands of the New England Patriots

The New York Jets had a chance in primetime to have a season changing performance against the New England Patriots. They could pull of an upset and legitimately position themselves to make an interesting run over October and November. They could trade punches with the best team in the league, hang around and show they turned a corner, even in a competitive loss. They could come out, hang for a bit but ultimately run out of steam against a more talented roster…none of that happened. The Jets got beat down. Sonny and Carlo beat down… in primetime, in their building. 33-0.
