Initial Reaction – New York Jets Out Duel Fading Chiefs In Shoot Out

Joe Caporoso with initial reaction to the New York Jets 38-31 win over the Kansas City Chiefs

The New York Jets lit up the scoreboard today in a wild, back and forth shootout against the Kansas City Chiefs 38-31 to move their record to 5-7. This was the offenses’s best performance of the year, as they went up and down the field at will which helped compensate for a less than stellar day for the defense. The Jets remain on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoff race (they are currently two games out of the sixth seed and behind at least four other teams) but today showed good resiliency as they bounced back from an early 14-0 hole to secure the victory.

New York Jets Loss Monday – The Vent, Week 12

Joe Caporoso with a loss vent on the New York Jets 35-27 defeat to the Carolina Panthers

The New York Jets have lost football games in a repeating and familiar way this season. They enter a game as underdogs, they gain an early lead, they head into the fourth quarter, either winning or narrowly behind but then ultimately lose in gut wrenching fashion. This season they are 2-5 in one possession games and outside of Jacksonville are yet to score what could really be classified as an “upset” in hindsight. Where does this leave them with five games left at 4-7?

Initial Reaction – Same Movie, Different Day: Jets Competitive But Lose 35-27

Joe Caporoso with initial reaction to the New York Jets 35-27 loss to the Carolina Panthers…

The New York Jets played a familiar game today, punching above their weight for three quarters before ultimately collapsing in the fourth in a close game. Their 35-27 loss to the Carolina Panthers effectively ends any 2017 playoffs discussion, particularly with their remaining schedule. This team is good enough to compete every single week but not talented enough at the premium positions or well coached enough to beat good teams in close games. Nobody should have felt comfortable up 20-18 today and nobody should be shocked the team found a way to lose, after what happened against Atlanta, New England and Miami this year.
