2020 Senior Bowl Preview: Offense

Clay Smarslok with his preview of the offensive players in the 2020 Senior Bowl

The Jets are finally getting to the point to where we can call this Joe Douglas’s team, rather than Mike Maccagnan. There are still quite a few stages before we reach that point in time but where it all starts is the Senior Bowl.

Douglas and his staff; Chad Alexander, Phil Savage and Rex Hogan, can all be expected to be at the event. As we all know, they have a lot of work to do, even if they did finish 6-2 in the second half of the season. This is where they will talk to teams, maybe strike up conversations regarding future deals but nothing is more important than getting the opportunity to watch these 100+ players that could have an impact in the NFL less than 10 months from now.

Clay’s NFL Draft Cheat Sheet – Week 7

Clayton Smarslok’s CFB Week 7 Cheat Sheet…

This is it, the Saturday of all Saturdays in the college football regular season. We are officially about halfway through the year and we are granted an abundance of amazing matchups all day long. There are four top-25 games and another one that barely misses that description. At all times of the day you will have good football to watch which is all anybody wants on a Saturday. When you get games like these, you also get players that put their names out there on a national stage as scouts want to see production against top competition. The only thing you have to do now is to read the rest of the cheat sheet, kick back, relax and hope that these games don’t disappoint.

Clay’s NFL Draft Cheat Sheet – Week 5

Clayton Smarslok with his week 5 college football cheat sheet

After a week hiatus due to life going on, we are back. No worries though, there will be updates from the last two weeks as well as an outlook for the slate of games this weekend and an updated ranking at the wide receiver position. We are approaching the heart of the in-conference games, meaning we get more rivalry games. When this part of the season comes around, you start to get a better idea of most of the prospects that are eligible for the upcoming draft. Just like the NFL, the rust has definitely worn off by now and should be getting 100% from every player on the field from here on out, it’s just a matter of who can do it consistently. I’m here to do just that for you, enjoy!

2020 First Quarter Mock Draft

Clayton Smarslok with his first quarter of the NFL season 2020 mock draft…

Alas! Mock draft season is upon us! Sure, some may say it is a waste to do a mock draft this early because of everything that can change but people who say that hate fun. This is supposed to be fun for me and you, but also informative for us all to know who is out there and who could be added to your favorite team as the next building block in their hopeful run at a Super Bowl.

As mentioned above, things will change. So do not take this mock draft in early October and rub it in my face when something (or everything) is completely off by the time late April comes around.

Disclaimer: The draft order is based off the order given on Tankathon.com, using the current record and strength of schedule of every team.

Unfortunately most Jets fans see this as the end of the season because of all of the injuries. Clay’s 2020 NFL Draft Cheat Sheet – Week 2

Clayton Smarslok with his week 2 CFB Cheat Sheet…

Guess who’s back! Last year’s NFL Draft Cheat Sheet was a big success and a lot of fun, so we are officially back for year number two. We are starting a week late because Hurricane Dorian gave a little bit of a scare and was originally supposed to hit us last Saturday, but the storm is in the past and we move on! (Side note: All of my thoughts and prayers go out to those in the Bahamas and anyone else affected by the storm).

New York Jets – What Is Joe Douglas’ Next Move?

Clayton Smarslok on what the New York Jets next roster move should be

It took a long eight-plus months but Jets football is finally back, new uniforms and all. Thursday night, the Jets took on the New York Giants for the “Snoopy Bowl”, if that’s still even a thing, and went home with the loss. As you can see in the Boss’s reaction to the pre-season opener, there was some good but there was definitely some bad as well.

New York Jets – The Historical Hypothetical

Clayton Smarslok asks what historical New York Jets player would be the biggest help to the current roster…

With this being such a quiet time in football, I figured I would throw a tweet out there just for fun and possibly get a few replies back. Little did I know, people love hypotheticals…

New York Jets Jets 2019 Draft Recap – CS

Clayton Smarslok gives his grades on the New York Jets 2019 NFL Draft class

After waiting so long for the draft, it’s already gone. This offseason was one of the most important in franchise history, having to build the roster around their quarterback who is now entering his second year. The draft usually just fills up the last few holes the front office and staff want filled up and with their five selections, it looks like they did the best they could with what they had.

Now we enter the worst three to four months as a football fan, just looking forward to opening weekend of the 2019 season. Before we do that, let us review who was added to the team these last few days to help the team reach their ultimate goal of finally making the playoffs after a long hiatus.
