TOJ Tweet Summary 2018, Week 7 – Jets vs. Vikings

Daniel Essien recaps the Jets week 7 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings with #JetsTwitter

The New York Jets went into week 7 looking to extend their winning streak to three games. However, they had to try to overcome a strong opponent in the Minnesota Vikings and a slew of injuries. #JetsTwitter takes us through this week’s tweet summary.

1st Half

The Vikings offense took the field first and they didn’t waste too much time stamping their mark on the game. Their first drive only lasted 1:38 and ended with a 34 yard touchdown pass from Kirk Cousins to Adam Thielen.

After the Jets offense punted on their first drive. The Jets defense turned things around after a poor first drive and almost got points themselves.

Both teams traded punts but then the Jets’ offense finally got going. Sam Darnold orchestrated a 6 play 86 yard drive that ended with a touchdown pass to Chris Herndon.

After trading punts, the Vikings took the lead back on a 26-yard field goal by Dan Bailey to put them up 10-7.
The Jets offense still couldn’t get anything going and had to punt. Then the Jets defense continued to somehow hold the Vikings offense, forcing a punt of their own. Then, on the ensuing Jets offensive drive, things got even uglier…

Clever…I’ll allow it.

Despite the short field after the turnover the Jets’ defense forced a three and out. However, the offense did nothing again and gave the ball right back the Vikings. Then of course…the Jets defense forced ANOTHER three and out. Surely the Jets would finally do something on offense, right? RIGHT?!?!? SPENCER NOOOOO!

The Vikings were able to drive into field goal range before the end of the half…of course you know Jets fans at this point are clock management experts so this moment didn’t pass them by:

2nd Half

The Jets offense couldn’t get anything going on the opening drive to start the second half, but the Vikings sure did on the following one…

Then on the following Jets offensive drive…

Sarah wants answers, folks…

Somehow the Jets defense held the Vikings to a field goal to make it 20-7. Then the Jets finally got points but mostly through a 53 yard kick return by Andre Roberts. The offense then went for 9 yards on 7 plays and a field goal.
After both teams traded punts, the Vikings kicked the sadness doors wide open.

Qué triste…

The Jets offense then finally had another successful drive, ending with a touchdown run by Sam Darnold on a QB sneak.

It didn’t…then…

The defense then came alive one more time…

Yeah…it was fun while it lasted…

Didn’t even know there was an account for that…

Not too long after that…

Then just to drive the point home…

“Mista” Carter…cmon bruh…

Not ideal…

That pretty much wrapped up a painful but somewhat expected afternoon overall for the New York Jets as they fell below .500 once again with now a 3-4 record. Jets fans never like losing but at least they could be the bright side, right?

Nevermind…
