– The Jets should blow up their quarterback room and start from scratch. Draft two quarterbacks (one early and one in the middle rounds) and sign one. Bryce Petty should be cut. Christian Hackenberg should be cut. Bring Josh McCown back to coach if you want but don’t pay him 6 million plus to “mentor” as an active quarterback. The era of old bridge quarterbacks paired with bad middle round picks needs to end. Clean slate.

– The Jets should not feel a need to break the bank for Austin Seferian-Jenkins who was under 28 yards receiving 8 of his last 9 games. Random castoff Neal Sterling had a more productive game in an expanded role on Sunday than any game Seferian-Jenkins did this season. He is a nice complimentary player on offense but has limitations as a full time starter. The Jets should pay accordingly.

– With Muhammad Wilkerson inevitably being cut (BYE!), the Jets shouldn’t hesitate to bring back Xavier Cooper and Kony Ealy to maintain defensive line depth. Neither should be expensive and Cooper in particular finished the season strong. Ealy had a fast start but was invisible down the stretch.

– Morris Claiborne is not a priority free agent. Maybe he comes back on a one year deal but nothing more with substantial guaranteed money. He was banged up in the second half of the year and struggled heavily. With his health history and age, the Jets can do better at a position that needs to be built from scratch.

– Considering the Jets were “rebuilding” this year. It is a major disappointment that neither ArDarius Stewart or Chad Hansen could exceed 100 yards on the season and neither scored a touchdown. It was a lost year in particular for Stewart, who was losing playing time to JoJo Natson by the season’s end and is already 24.

– Marcus Maye was the Jets best rookie and their best second round pick since David Harris. Jamal Adams had a good but great rookie year. He was the 6th pick in the draft and wasn’t the best player at his own position on his team and was arguably not a top five rookie at his position. That being said, he showed tremendous versatility and was able to handle an expansive role as a rookie. He is also clearly already a leader on the team and will be a foundational piece going forward. Adams will only get better.

– The most overrated 2017 Jets by fans: Morris Claiborne, Josh McCown, Jermaine Kearse and Darron Lee.

– The most underrated 2017 Jets by fans: Steve McLendon, Robby Anderson, Kelvin Beachum, Eric Tomlinson.

– Demario Davis was a quality starter this season. I was skeptical of the trade but credit where it is due, he was substantially better than he was in his first tour of duty with the Jets. He should be brought back next season.

– The Jets need to fix returner. JoJo Natson and Kalif Raymond were putrid. ArDarius Stewart also showed he was not a returner.

– SUBJECT TO CHANGE but if you asked me today, the Jets will find a way to select Josh Rosen, Sam Darnold (if he declares) or Baker Mayfield with their first pick. I’m terrified of them taking Josh Allen and hope that fear is misguided.

– Welcome back Quincy Enunwa! The Jets top three receivers next year may be a 6th round pick and two UDFAs (Anderson and Kearse).
