TOJ Tweet Summary Week 15 – Jets vs. Saints

Daniel Essien with a #JetsTwitter Summary on the New York Jets week 15 loss to the New Orleans Saints…

After another poor road performance in Denver, the Jets hit the road again, this time traveling to New Orleans to take on the Saints. They were overmatched but the game wasn’t truly decided until late. Let’s go through week 15 with #JetsTwitter.

1st Half

Jets got off to a slow start as the Saints scored (field goal and TD) on their first two possessions to take an early 10-0 lead.

Jets finally woke up on their second possession with a long drive that mostly featured the running game and concluded with a 2 yard TD run by Bilal Powell.

The Saints were quick to answer back, though, scoring on a 10 yard TD pass from Drew Brees to Alvin Kamara to go up 17-7.

The Jets defense started to settle in but the offense started to slow down. After three punts between both teams, the Saints got the ball trying to extend their lead. Then we had a Leonard Williams sighting.

That turnover gave the Jets offense the ball in the red zone. But they couldn’t do anything with that golden opportunity and ended up kicking a field goal to make the score 17-10.

2nd Half

Both teams traded punts but then, with the help of a big play to Eli McGuire, the Jets added a Catanzaro field goal to draw within 4 points of New Orleans.

After the defense forced the Saints to go three and out, the Jets offense got the ball with a chance to take the lead. But…

Didn’t take long…

After getting the ball in good field position following the turnover, it appeared the Saints would add to their lead. But the Jets defense stepped up.

So the Jets offense got the ball back again with a chance to take the lead…and they went three and out with that familiar tune: “2 runs and an incomplete pass.”

Saints got the ball back with another chance to take control of the game but the Jets defense was still on one. #SkrineWay

Jets offense followed up that turnover with a 7 yard drive and a punt…the Saints then woke up and scored on a Michael Thomas TD catch from Drew Brees to go up 24-13 and basically wrap things up.

Jets were able to score on an Eli McGuire touchdown catch but it proved to be just cosmetic as the Jets fell to the Saints 31-19.
