NFL Best Bets Against the Spread – Week 16 Edition

Jake Benaquisto with his NFL Best Bets for week 16 in the 2017 NFL season

Week 15 Recap: Got my first push of the season with the Patriots and went 3-1-1 for the week. With my season record now at 42-32-1, I’m going to try and stay hot as we head into the last two weeks of the regular season.

Chicago -6.5 vs. Cleveland

This is more of a bet against the Browns, rather than for the Bears. Cleveland feels like a team destined for 0-16, and in this game I get to lay less than a touchdown against them. The Bears’ running game should be good enough to get an early lead, and I expect their defense to shut down DeShone Kizer. Bears win 26-16.

Tennessee +6.5 vs. LA Rams

I’ve been going against the Titans quite often lately, but I like them getting 6.5 at home here. The Rams are in a tough spot, as they’re playing a second consecutive road game. Additionally, the team is coming off arguably their most impressive win of the season after blowing out the Seahawks in Seattle. I don’t anticipate the Titans winning this game outright, but I think they can keep the game within one possession. Rams win 28-24.

Buffalo +12.5 at New England

The Bills will finally return to the playoffs if they can somehow win their last two games. I’d be shocked if they end up beating the Patriots in New England, but I do think they can cover the big spread. Buffalo’s offense with Tyrod Taylor at QB should be good enough to keep the Bills in this game. Patriots win 30-22.

Seattle +5.5 at Dallas

Even with Ezekiel Elliot returning to the field, 5.5 is too many points to lay against the Seahawks. Seattle got embarrassed last week, and with their season now on the line, I think this game is a coin flip that could go either way. I’ll take Dallas to win a close game, 27-23.

Philadelphia -8.5 vs. Oakland

The Raiders’ season pretty much ended with a loss against the Cowboys last Sunday. For a team that has been undisciplined and inconsistent all year, I’d be shocked if they come out motivated for this game. Philadelphia, on the other hand, is still playing for the top seed in the NFC, and I’m betting on their offense to keep rolling. Eagles win this one easily, 31-10.
