TOJ Tweet Summary Week 9 – Jets vs. Bills

Daniel Essien with a #JetsTwitter Summary on the New York Jets week 9 victory against the Buffalo Bills…

TOJ Tweet Summary continues with week 9: Jets vs. Bills part two. The Jets were coming off of three straight losses coming in to their face-off with Buffalo at MetLife. It turned out to be quite an eventful day. Let’s see how this game went through the lens of #JetsTwitter.

Jets fans didn’t know what to expect…until Jude tweeted.

1st Half

The defense set the tone early on. After the Jets offense punted on their drive, Jordan Jenkins got things started with a sack on first down…

The Jets forced a 3 and out on the Bills first drive and the offense got to work. They put together an 8 play 54 yard drive that ended with a McCown TD run.

What a prediction here…

Both teams traded punts but then the Bills offense got going and scored on a 10-yard TD pass from Tyrod Taylor to Zay Jones.

Jets were put together a nice drive in response and faced a 3rd and short at the Buffalo 20-yard line when…

So despite missing out on the TD, the Jets made a field goal to take a 10-7 lead. After that the Jets defense started to turn it up a notch…

After both team punted, the Bills were able to drive on the Jets defense down to New York’s 37-yard-line. Then the improbable happened…

After that high the Jets offense unfortunately just sputtered into halftime with 10-7 lead.

2nd Half

The second half started PERFECTLY for the Jets. After the defense forced another three and out. The offense moved the ball down the field and scored a touchdown on another beautiful fade from McCown to Robby Anderson.

Then the Jets defense kept the pressure on forcing two straight punts. After the second one, the Jets offense got the ball and scored on two plays to take a 24-7 lead.

Then before the ensuing kickoff, Tony Romo innocently started a small fire on #JetsTwitter

Bills got the ball back and started to drive in an attempt to claw back into the game but…

Funny you should ask Kyle! I have one of the longest standing “Jets taking two safeties back to back in the first and second round” debate on #JetsTwitter for you riiiiiiight here:

Ahh…its not a Jets game unless we’re arguing after something good happens.

Also, the numbers never lie…but the ball doesn’t either.

The Jets punted the ball back to the Bills but the party was far from over for the Jets’ defense.

We saw what came of that extensively after the game…but more immediately…

Then soon after…

Jets were blowing out the Bills. And eventually, some Jets fans/media were already distracted by the small fire from earlier…

Meanwhile, despite the Bills would onside kick their way back into the game, the Jets eventually won in the end 34-21 and improved their record to 4-5.

Post Game

After the game, fans were feeling optimistic about this year’s team and in particular the young core they’re developing.
