NFL Best Bets Against the Spread – Week 11 Edition

Jake Benaquisto with his Best Bets for week 11 in the NFL season

Week 1o Recap: A second consecutive 2-3 week. My record for the season is now 25-25, so I need a big week to get back above .500.

LA Rams +2.5 at Minnesota

In what might be the best game of the week, I’m taking the better QB and the points. The Rams have the highest point differential in the league at +134, and Sean McVay seems to be the heavy favorite for COTY. Case Keenum has been solid for the Vikings, but I think the LA front (Aaron Donald specifically) could wreck havoc in this game. Rams win 26-23.

LA Chargers -5.5 vs. Buffalo

The Chargers are playing against a rookie QB traveling to the west coast and I get to lay less than a touchdown? I’m here for it. Nobody knows if Nathan Peterman will ever become a legitimate player, but to think that he’s an upgrade over Tyrod Taylor right now is ludicrous. Additionally, the Bills run defense has been atrocious since trading Marcel Dareus, and this week they’re facing Melvin Gordon. I like the Chargers to win easily, 29-13.

Cincinnati +2.5 at Denver

I have no idea how Brock Osweiler is still a starter in this league, but I might as well gamble against him while he is. The Broncos seem to have quit on Vance Joseph, as they’ve lost their last five games by double digits. The Bengals aren’t much better, but they have a clear advantage at coach and quarterback in this matchup. Bengals win 22-17.

New England -6.5 at Oakland

Tom Brady is somehow continuing to play at an elite level. At 40 years old, he is leading the league in passing yards and has the third highest completion percentage. This game could be a shootout, but I ultimately think the Patriots offense will be too good for the Raiders to slow down. New England wins 36-26.

Philadelphia -3.5 at Dallas

Simply put, the Cowboys’ offense just isn’t the same without their stud LT Tyron Smith. This week, they’re facing off against one of the best defensive fronts in the league. I think Dak Prescott could be heavily pressured once again in this game, and I expect Carson Wentz to continue his quest for the MVP. Eagles win 30-24.
