Week 3 Recap: After an awful week 2, I went 4-1 on my picks and my record for the season now stands at 8-7. My only loss came from the Packers, who won but couldn’t cover the big spread. This week, I’m taking mostly home teams as I try to pull off my second winning week in a row. If you are looking to take part in any of the action, check out Best USA Friendly Sportsbooks right here!
Baltimore +3 vs. Pittsburgh
This is by far my favorite line of the week. I get the Ravens coming off a blowout loss at home as an underdog? I love it. The Steelers haven’t looked very good so far in 2017. The offense has been underwhelming, and they’ve struggled on the road. Against this Baltimore defense, Big Ben could have some serious trouble putting points on the board. I know the Ravens gave up 44 points to the Jaguars, but their offense was overmatched versus the Jacksonville defense. I think this week both units bounce back and Baltimore pulls off the upset at home. Ravens win 21-20.
Houston +2.5 vs. Tennessee
After his performance against the Patriots, I’m officially jumping on the Deshaun Watson bandwagon. The rookie went toe-to-toe with Tom Brady in New England, and the Texans had a real shot to win the game. I like the Titans this year, but after an impressive win against the Seahawks, I think they could struggle in week 4. I got the Texans winning outright in a low scoring game, 20-16.
Cincinnati -2.5 at Cleveland
Even with a mediocre team like the Bengals, laying less than 3 points against the Browns just feels like a safe bet. Cincinnati actually played pretty well against the Packers in Lambeau, as they led for most of the game. As bad as both of these teams are, the Bengals clearly have the superior roster. Their offense shouldn’t have a problem moving the ball against a defense that could really use a healthy Myles Garrett. Bengals win 23-19.
LA Chargers -1 vs. Philadelphia
Philadelphia won their home opener in dramatic fashion last Sunday. After losing a 14-0 lead, the Eagles came back and won on an incredible 61 yard field goal by their rookie kicker. With that being said, I love the Chargers this week. The Chargers’ first year in Los Angeles has gotten off to the worst possible start, as their record stands at 0-3. However, they could easily be 2-1, with two of their losses coming from missed field goal attempts. Coming off an emotional win and traveling across the country, I think the Eagles could come out flat in LA. I’ll take the Chargers to get their first win of the season here, 26-21.
Kansas City -6.5 vs. Washington
One of my favorite bets last week was the Redskins getting 3.5 points at home against the Raiders. Not only did they cover, but Washington beat the Raiders easily in a huge upset. After this exciting win, I think the Redskins will struggle in Arrowhead. Kansas City has one of the best rosters in the NFL, and Alex Smith has been on fire lately. With weapons like Tyreek Hill, Kareem Hunt, and Travis Kelce, it’s easy to see why the Chiefs QB has been so successful. I like the Chiefs to win this one 34-23.
