TOJ New York Jets Link Dump – July 10th, 2014

3

Your New York Jets links, YouTube clip and GIF of the day…56 days until NFL Kickoff and only two short weeks until the Jets are headed up to Cortland…

- The supplemental draft begins at 1 P.M. this afternoon. Henry Hodgson of NFL.com came out with a mock draft, and he has the Jets making a selection in the 6th round. (NFL)

- Let’s get to know LaKendrick Ross a little bit, just in case Hodgson’s prediction is correct. (TJB)

- Most football fans like to root for a long shot player that performs well in training camp and makes the team i.e. Danny Woodhead (albeit with the Pats, because the Jets cut him for David Clowney… way to go Tannenbaum). If you’re looking for a long shot to root for this year, look no further than Jets’ defensive back Jeremy Reeves. (NYJ)

- Jeremy Reeves is going to have to stand out in order to make the team. If Jets’ 3rd round pick CB Dexter McDougle stands out, he may find himself in the starting lineup, and he apparently turned some heads in minicamp.  (TBS)

- I’m sure my colleagues here at TOJ will have position by position breakdowns as we draw nearer and nearer to training camp, but until then, here’s Aidan Mackie’s breakdown for the defense. (B/R)

- ESPN is doing a countdown of the three most memorable plays in every NFL team’s history. Rich Cimini was in charge of nominating three plays for the fans to vote on as most memorable play in Jets history, and here they are: play 1, play 2, play 3. (ESPN)

- Peyton Manning was voted the top player in NFL Network’s Top 100 Players of 2014; Tom Brady was voted number three on that same list. Let’s hope entries number 42 and 94 can get to these two quarterbacks many times in 2014 (Manning in week six; Tom Brady in weeks seven and 16). (NFL)

  1. really Cimini??? 2 of those 3 plays make the Jets look like clowns. he couldnt find 2 positive plays instead? maybe the TD that gave us the lead on the MNF comeback years ago? or namath leaving the field after we won the Superbowl? cimini sucks, what a clown.

  2. What do you expect from Cimini? How about O’brien to Walker in the 86 OT game vs Miami? O’brien to Toon in the 88 games vs Giants? Lance Mehl int off Plunkett in 83?

  3. We all just have to stop reading Cimini articles and commenting. That’s the only way to get rid of him. Even negative comments are keeping him employed. Just let him fade away into nothingness
