TOJ Week 16 NFL Gambling Advice and Picks

1

Last week was a step back in my quest to get over .500 for the season and my Best Bets bombed to drop me below .500 on the season in that category as well. Hell, I even lost my teaser pick, which I’ve been pretty good at this season. It’s my own fault though really… I mean, what the HELL was I thinking being so high on the Giants?! Ugh. Oh well, it’s time to move on and take a look at Week 16, which has a few games I absolutely love. A big week is coming, I can feel it. Let’s get on with the show…

Jets -1 vs. Browns – I love the Jets in this spot. Sure both teams are eliminated from playoff contention, but don’t think the players on this Jets team are going to just mail it in. They know full well Rex Ryan’s job is in jeopardy and they’re going to play hard and do everything they can to win this game and end the season strong for their head coach. With Jeremy Kerley back and Chris Ivory playing the way he has been, the offense hasn’t been atrocious, and you know the defense will always give you something. Sure, Josh Gordon might get 300 receiving yards against our horrible secondary, but that won’t be enough. Jets win 24-20.

Colts +7 @ Chiefs - The Colts are awful on the road (and quite frankly, aren’t that great at home either), but this just seems like the line is a few points too high. I don’t love this one, but I’m taking the points.

Vikings +9 @ Bengals – I would not be shocked to see the Bengals end up running away with this one, but with the way Andy Dalton has been playing, I’m not laying any more than a touchdown with him at the helm. I just don’t trust the Red Rocket. At all. And I’m very much looking forward to showing my bookie just how much I don’t like Andy Dalton when I bet against him in the playoffs in two weeks.

Texans +10 vs. Broncos – The Broncos are just coasting into the playoffs at this point while the Texans are zeroing in on the #1 pick in the draft. If Houston has any pride, though, they’ll give everything they have in this game and make this their personal Super Bowl. They won’t win, but I do think they keep it close in front of the home fans.

Jaguars +4.5 vs. Titans – Just take the points in a game like this. The Jaguars have not been bad lately, and there’s no reason they should be getting any more than 3 points in this game.

Bills +2.5 vs. Dolphins – I love this game. I’d love it more at 3 points, but I think the Bills win this game outright. The Fins are coming off two huge wins the past two weeks in pretty dramatic fashion and they have letdown written all over them in Buffalo. The Bills will absolutely be motivated to knock their division rival out of the playoffs and I just don’t see Miami traveling up there and pulling this game out. Bills outright.

Panthers -3 vs. Saints – Saints on the road? Saints outdoors? Revenge on the mind of the Panthers players? Yeah, it’s all adding up to a Panthers victor today. I’m saying 24-17.

Redskins +3 vs. Cowboys – Normally I would do anything in my power to avoid putting my money on the same side as the Shanahans and this dumpster fire of a team, but I’m going to make an exception when Jason Garrett and Monte Kiffin are involved on the other side. I love the Skins today. Love them. The Dallas defense is pretty much the worst I’ve ever seen, and Kirk Cousins is going to absolutely light them up. Washington wins this one outright.

Rams -3.5 vs. Bucs – I could see this one being a 3 point Rams win, but oh well. I’m going to go ahead and go against the legendary ball coach, Greg Schiano.

Seahawks -10 vs. Cardinals – Seahawks at home. Nuff said.

Lions -10 vs. Giants – LOLGiants. Thank you, Eli Manning for providing so much laughter the past few weeks for us Giants haters. Thank you so very much.

Raiders +10 @ Chargers – Another best bet candidate here. I know San Diego is coming off a huge win in Denver last week, but should they really be laying double digits? The Raiders are bad, but they’re not that bad.

Steelers +2 @ Packers – I hate both of these teams this year. Matt Flynn looked like a competent NFL player last week, but that was against the Cowboys and their historically bad defense. I don’t see a repeat happening this week.

Ravens -1 vs. Patriots – The Ravens just have New England’s number. They don’t fear Belichick or Brady or any of these guys. Throw in the fact that the Patriots have been murdered by injuries this year, and this has Ravens win written all over it.

Bears +3 @ Eagles - Great way to end the night with this game. I love the Bears. I’d tease them, parlay them, do whatever you have to do. If you’re up big after a good day of betting, then unload on the Bears. If you’re in a big hole because you foolishly bet on someone like Eli Manning, then use the Bears to get it all back. Bears cover. Bears win.

Falcons +14 @ 49ers – That’s an awful lot of points.
