The entire Turn On The Jets staff will be attending the uSTADIUM NFL Draft Event on Thursday April 25th in New York City. Come hang out, talk with Jets with us and learn more about uSTADIUM’s newest mobile application
Get ready to experience a whole new level of engagement in the sports social media world. Our team of entrepreneurs is bringing you a new wave of social media interaction and opening up your mobile device as your window to the sports world.
Our goal as entrepreneurs is to give any sports fanatic across the globe a platform to display his/her knowledge, interest, and allegiance as a sports fan. Too often we see fans being silenced within traditional sports media, which we see as a true catastrophe in this era of user-generated content and dispersion. Social networks have likewise created an atmosphere of muted sports opinion, as fundamentally above-the-line institutions lacking subject direction and sub-communities – according to a recent GMR report, over two-thirds of Facebook users’ have two or more generations (parents and grand-parents) as online friends.
Add to this mix the social pressure to keep one’s social-network voice mainstream, it is easy to see why sports fanatics do not yet have a real home online. The emerging answers to this problem fail to understand the direction of mobile (which is Video), and remain focused on text-based communication – it’s time to evolve.
Sports has traditionally been a broadcast-centered industry, with good reason; the events themselves are played on-air. However we see serious engagement with the secondary device (mobile phone, tablet) before, during, and after these aired events. uSTADIUM hopes to be the connective tissue between on-air sports viewing and mobile/tablet user engagement/discussion/content creation.
The uSTADIUM team understands sports, we understand social networking, and (most importantly) we understand mobile. We are experts in our respective fields (sports publishing, social engagement, mobile marketing, mobile video engagement) and are bringing our might to bear April 25th, with the launch of the uSTADIUM mobile application, and uSTADIUM events (co-sponsored by Santonio Holmes and the III & Long Foundation).
uSTADIUM, turns any fan’s mobile device into sports broadcasting equipment and his living room, car, or sidewalk into his studio. uSTADIUM is the next generation of mobile/social sports interaction and will take sports fans to a new level of engagement.
As for our FIRST event — in which we will launch the beta stage of our app and bring everyone together to enjoy the NFL Draft in style, we welcome you all to join us on Thursday, April 25th at 7PM, in the heart of NYC at Stout Lounge, as the 2013 NFL Draft picks are announced. Why watch the broadcast at home when we’re providing a 3-hour super-premium open bar, a never-ending array of hors d’oeuvres (more delicious than your local tailgate), and 12 TVs to view all the action?
What better way to watch teams select the next new crop of football greats, than while rubbing elbows with a selection of current NFL Stars and Legends? Fans, athletes, media, and friends — doors open at 7pm and we aren’t kicking you out until midnight.
We are pleased to announce that New York Jets wide receiver and Super Bowl MVP Santonio Holmes’ III & Long Foundation will be sponsoring the event, and some of his current and former NFL brethren, will be in attendance.
Some of the confirmed guests are as followed. Current and former New York Jets’ Damien Woody, Demario Davis, Donald Strickland; NY Giants Prince Amukamara and former Detroit Lion LaMar Campbell.
We hope you can make it out to our event, and be one of the first to experience and participate in uSTADIUM’s revolutionary wave of sports social media.
The uSTADIUM NFL Draft event will take place on Thursday April 25th, 2013 at the Stout Lounge (133 W 33rd St, New York, NY 10001) from 7PM-Midnight.
