Important Reminder For All New York Jets Fans

An important reminder for all New York Jets fans who have been swept up in Tebow Mania

Lost in the madness of acquiring Tim Tebow and a brewing quarterback¬†controversy, is something very important…There are other positions on the football field besides quarterback. Other positions that the Jets have serious, serious holes at. This is the New York Jets current depth chart at right tackle –

I don’t care who is playing quarterback if you can’t protect him. At left guard, they have an average player in Matt Slauson who will be coming off serious off-season surgery by the way which adds more concern to this unit as a whole.

This team still doesn’t have a starting wideout opposite Santonio Holmes. Unless you believe Chaz Schilens is going to produce more this year than he did in all four of his previous seasons…combined.

Rex Ryan believes he can win with a run heavy approach on offense aided by Tim Tebow thanks to a great defense. Unfortunately the Jets don’t have a great defense. Not with Bart Scott at inside linebacker. Not with Calvin Pace and Bryan Thomas starting at outside linebacker. Not without a pass rusher. And certainly not without a free safety.

The Jets are in a division with a team who has two of the five best tight ends in the league and have nobody to cover them. The Jets are in division with a team that just signed Mario Williams and Mark Anderson but doesn’t have anybody to block them…at least Miami doesn’t have their act together.

…You got plenty of work to do Mike T.

Jets will add am OLB pass rusher in round 1.

They need to add a FS from somewhere.

ILB can be added from somewhere as well.

That will be a solid D.

Add a WR and RT from the draft (rounds 1 and 2).

And all the needs are addressed. Denver was a worse team last year then the Jets and look how far Tebow took them.

I wish the talk radio geniuses read your blog. Ask MT whether he seriously is going to take the same risk he did last year by hoping Vlad or W hunter will save the day? how soon they forge that when we went to two conference championships we had D wood at RT and the 1st year Faneca at LG. are we going to just hope that a serious pass rusher comes to us in the draft, havent we learned our lessons from Mr. Gholston? what if the rookie is not an impact player? we go into season with two major weaknesses not addressed. I hope MT proves me wrong and gets a bargain veteran RT and a playmaking passrusher who actually sacks the QB in the draft. Also, why are’t we interested in Michael Bush? Why havent we signed a #2 TE?
Forget Tebow. He is a good addition to ant team and the $$$ is not outrageous. But if we don’t block like we did 2 and 3 years ago he is going nowhere. very frustrating… great work with this blog.
