Jets Trade For Antonio Cromartie

It isn’t even midnight yet and Mike Tannenbaum has struck…it is being reported the Jets have traded a 2011 third round pick for Chargers corner Antonio Cromartie, which could escalate to a second round pick.

Initial thoughts? I have been down on Cromartie on this blog, but considering the Jets only gave up a third rounder next year, which elevates to a second if he hits certain benchmarks, it is hard to argue with. Cromartie is obviously one of the most talented corners in the league. The guy had ten interceptions in 2007 and made some ridiculous plays. I am sure Rex Ryan is confident, he can get Cromartie back to pro-bowl form and won’t have any effort/off the field issues because of the tight knit Jets locker room.

Much more to come…
